  • The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan.

SSC CGL Application Fees

The application fee for the SSC CGL form is ₹100 for General and OBC candidates. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from fee payment.

How to Apply for SSC CGL Recruitment?

Filling out the SSC CGL application form consists of two parts:

  1. One-Time Registration (OTR) Process
  2. Form Filling Process

Part 1: One-Time Registration (OTR) Process

  1. Visit the Official SSC Website: Go to ssc.gov.in.
  2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR):
  3. Click on the “Register Now” link under the “Login” section.
  4. Provide your details, such as Aadhaar Number, Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
  5. Create login credential details such as username and password.
  6. Verify OTP sent to your mobile number and Email.
  7. Upload your photograph and signature after checking all specifications provided in the notification.
  8. Submit and note your registration ID.

Part 2: Form Filling Process

  1. Log in using your registration number and password got from the OTR process.
  2. Navigate to the “Apply” section and select the “CGL” tab.
  3. Complete the application form with your educational and other required details.
  4. Upload the required documents in the correct format.
  5. Pay the Application Fee:
    • The application fee is ₹100 for General and OBC male candidates.
    • Female candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the fee.
    • Fees can be paid online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or through credit/debit cards. Offline payment can be made in cash at designated SBI branches by generating a challan.
  6. Submit the Application:
    • Review all entered information carefully.
    • Submit the application form.
    • It’s advisable to print or save a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

SSC CGL One-Time Registration

The SSC CGL one-time registration process is mandatory for those candidates who have not registered on the SSC official website yet. This process will give them a one-time registration number required to log in to the website. Without this process, you cannot fill out the SSC CGL application form.

SSC CGL Photograph and Signature Specifications

During the one-time registration process, you will be required to upload your photograph and signature (mandatory) at a step. For successfully uploading the signature, you will be required to follow the specifications provided below (mentioned in the SSC CGL notification).

SSC CGL 2026 Selection Process

SSC CGL selection process consists of two tiers: Tier 1 (qualifying) and Tier 2 (merit). Below, we have provided a detailed selection process for both tiers, followed by document verification.

  • Tier II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern

The SSC CGL 2026 exam will be conducted in 2 stages, i.e., Tier 1 & Tier 2. The SSC CGL Tier I Exam includes 4 sections: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) & English Language (Basic Knowledge). SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Tier 1 exam comprises 4 sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General English & General Awareness. SSC CGL Tier 1 includes 100 questions for 200 marks (2 marks each). For every incorrect answer, a 0.50 mark will be deducted as a penalty. There will be composite timings of 60 minutes.
