Students who are preparing seriously for any competitive exam know that these days competition is very tough. But the best part is that students are still cracking the exam by following a consistent strategy and by following a daily routine. For a student who has already seen himself as a banker, clearing this exam is not rocket science for him. Because this exam demands that students use their time productively. If you plan your day well, you can easily cover all sections without feeling lost or confused. The preparation has already started when you decided to study smart, practice daily, and stay regular with your preparation. In this blog, we will share how you can divide your study hours to maximize productivity. On average, you should devote at least 10 hours of focused study daily to crack the SBI Clerk Exam 2025.
When you start preparing, first give a free mock test to check where you stand. This will help you understand how the exam is being set and the type of questions asked. After that, note down your weak areas and start improving them. Once you begin working on them, practice with topic-wise tests. This will slowly boost your score as you cover your weak points. Next, move on to sectional tests to build speed and accuracy in each subject. Finally, attempt full-length mocks regularly. If you follow this flow seriously, your chances of clearing the exam on your first attempt are high.
Many students believe that studying for 16–18 hours is the only way to crack the SBI Clerk exam. But the truth is, even 10 productive hours daily are enough if used wisely. It’s not about studying long hours. It’s about what to study and when to study. Most students waste their time thinking about what to start instead of studying. We are here to solve this problem. We are giving you a clear time distribution plan.
If you are a full-time student, you should study in 4 slots – Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Night. Each slot should be focused on one section, like Quant, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness. Also, don’t forget to take short breaks in between to stay fresh .
If you are a working professional, you can divide your preparation into 2 slots – Morning (before office) and Evening/Night (after office). You can divide like in the mornings, practicing Quant and Reasoning, and in the evenings, English, GA, and mock tests
Even 6–7 productive hours for working aspirants and 10 hours for full-time students can make you exam-ready. Just stick to your routine and stay consistent.
We suggest you start your morning with something light but productive. Reading a newspaper is the best way to begin because it not only improves your vocabulary but also makes your general awareness stronger. Note down 10 new words daily from the editorial section and find their synonyms and antonyms. Clear your all basis of topic you think you are weak. Watch their videos and try to solve atleast 5 sets of each topic daily. After that, give a topic-wise test of English.
For most studnets afternoon is the best time to focus on making the basics strong. Take a printout of the syllabus and mark the topic that you think you are not good at. Take any weak topic from Quant or Reasoning, watch a video on that topic, make short notes on how to solve that, and then practice at least 100 questions on that topic. We are not asking you to practice 100 questions on a particular topic daily. You can break it down into a 20-question set. For example, 20 questions from 5 different topics each. This way, you will gradually improve your speed and accuracy.
Now it’s time to attempt a full-length mock test. Attempt a full-length mock test in the evening. Please try to attempt it on a desktop because in the exam centre you will be get a desktop, so, from the very first day, make a habit of giving mock tests on a desktop. It will take around 1 hour. Once the mock is done, spend another hour analyzing it carefully. Check which questions you got wrong, which you skipped, and where you spent extra time. Write all this in a notebook or table format so you can see your strong and weak areas. This step is very important because mock tests only work if you analyze them properly.
Before ending your day, revise the mistakes you made in the mock test. Don’t wait for the next day. Please try to correct them on the same day because they are still fresh in your mind. This habit of yours will make you stand apart from others. And you won’t repeat the same mistakes again and again. Over time, you will see that your accuracy is improving, and you will start noticing progress daily.
