Best Tips to Crack the SBI PO Quant Section

If you want to crack the SBI PO 2025 in one go, then follow these tips to master the quants section and score well.

1. Understand the Concept First

Don’t start directly with the mock tests or difficult problems. First, learn the basics of each topic. Use short tricks only after you are confident with the concepts, then start giving mock tests.

2. Make a Weekly Topic Plan

Instead of solving random topics, make a weekly study plan like:

  • Monday-Tuesday: Arithmetic (Time & Work, Profit & Loss)
  • Wednesday: Simplification + Quadratic Equations
  • Thursday-Friday: DI Practice + Number Series
  • Saturday-Sunday: Full Mock + Error Analysis

3. Practice DI Regularly

Whether Prelims or Mains, DI is very important. Practice DI sets daily, start with bar graphs and pie charts, then move to mixed and caselets. For Mains, you can add ratio-based and arithmetic-based DI.

4. Learn Fast Calculation Techniques

Master:

  • Tables up to 30
  • Squares up to 50
  • Cubes up to 20
  • Vedic maths shortcuts for multiplication, addition, and division

5. Analyze Mock Test

Attempt 2–3 full-length sectional mocks per week, then analyze:

  • Where did you spend more time
  • Which questions did you get wrong
  • Which topics did you skip?

6. Don’t Skip Arithmetic

Many students skip arithmetic, thinking it’s time-consuming. But in SBI PO, especially Mains, arithmetic forms the base of even DI sets. Make sure you’ve practiced every type from this category.

7. Time Management is Key

In Prelims, try to solve:

  • 10 questions from Simplification/Series in 7–8 mins
  • 10 questions from DI in 10 mins
  • 10 questions from Arithmetic in 12 mins
