An interview is part of the Group Discussion and Interview (GD & PI) round. Candidates are called for Group Discussion after they qualify through the cut-off set by SBI for the SBI PO Mains exam 2021. After going through the group discussion session, candidates are called for a Personal Interview which tests his/her personality along with their qualifications and other qualities. Group Discussion/Exercise carries 20 marks, whereas Personal Interview round carries 30 marks. You need to keep in mind that the final merit list is based on the marks obtained in Mains and GD/PI rounds. The Prelims score is not counted in the final merit list.
What happens if a candidate fails in a SBI PO interview?
Generally, a candidate requires 40% Marks to clear the interview stage. It is easy to impress the panel enough to grab 40% Marks, unless you go completely unprepared, or misbehave with them, or in case ‘cat gets your tongue.’ In that case, you’ll simply be out of the competition.
On the other hand, even after clearing the interview stage, you will have to secure the minimum cut-off to get the job. You will make it to the reserve list if you are very close to the cut-off. If not, you will have to start all over again!
