Best Tips and Smart Ways to Prepare for the Reasoning Section

1. Focus on High-Weightage Topics

Start with high-weightage topics like Puzzles and Seating Arrangement. These topics always carry 10–15 marks, so practicing at least 1–2 sets daily will help you improve both speed and accuracy. Along with these, do not ignore Inequality and Syllogism, as questions from these topics surely appear in the exam. Just practice 5 questions from each topic daily to stay in touch with the basics.

2. Do Not Miss Chinese Coding

If we carefully analyze all the banking and insurance exams conducted this year, one thing is very clear: Chinese Coding has become a regular part of the Reasoning section. In almost every exam, 5 questions have been asked from this topic. This shows how important it is and why you should not skip it during your final preparation days. That’s why it is strongly suggested that you practice at least one complete set of Chinese Coding daily. These 5 marks can make a huge difference in your overall score.

3. Avoid New Topics at the Last Moment

It’s okay if you have not studied some topics like Order & Ranking or Input-Output. At this point, avoid starting any new topic because reasoning requires strong practice, not just concept reading. If you try to pick up something new now, there’s a high chance of confusion and mistakes in the exam. Instead, focus on the topics you already know and make them stronger. At this point, avoid starting any new topic that you have not touched before, because reasoning requires strong practice. If you begin something new now, there is a chance of making mistakes in the exam. Instead, strengthen the topics you already know by solving sectional tests and analyzing where you take more time or make errors. This way, you can still overcome your weaknesses.

4. Analyze with Sectional Tests

In the last few days before the exam, your main focus should be only on practice. At this stage, learning new concepts will not help much. Instead, you should solve as many topic-wise tests and sectional tests as possible. When you attempt these tests, make sure to sit with full concentration, just like in the real exam. After attempting, don’t just move on to the next test. The most important step is analysis. Check carefully where you are spending extra time and which type of questions you are leaving or making mistakes in. For example, if you find that puzzles are taking too long or you are struggling with inequality, note it down and give those topics extra practice. Even though very little time is left, you still have the chance to overcome your mistakes.

5. Use Short Tricks but Keep Basics Strong

Whenever you practice, make use of the short tricks you have learned, but remember that not every trick will work on every question. That’s why your basic concepts must be clear and you should always know the second method to solve a question.

6. Attempt Full-Length Mocks Daily

Finally, in these last days, do not skip full-length mock tests. Attempt one mock test daily, check your accuracy, and analyze your mistakes. The key is to balance both speed and accuracy. Attempting more questions is not useful
