Candidates should keep scanned copies of the required documents ready before filling out the application form. The notification lists:
The notification specifies that the documents should generally be uploaded in PDF format, with the prescribed file-size and scanning requirements.
The official notification provides a flexible selection framework rather than guaranteeing one fixed sequence of stages. The Bank may conduct an online test/multiple rounds of tests, psychometric test or any other suitable assessment, followed by interview(s) for candidates qualifying the online test. It also reserves the right to use GD, descriptive tests, case studies or multiple interview rounds depending on the recruitment requirements.
The selection may therefore involve:
Online Test → LPT, where applicable → Psychometric/GD/PI or other assessment → Final Selection
Candidates should note that the Bank reserves the right to modify the selection methodology.
Candidates shortlisted through the online examination must qualify the local language test if they do not have documentary proof of having studied the specified local language in Class 10 or 12. Failure to qualify the LPT will prevent the candidate from proceeding to the Personal Interview.
Candidates may be shortlisted for GD and/or PI based on their online test performance, vacancies and cut-off criteria decided by the Bank.
The minimum qualifying marks specified for GD/PI are:
However, the Bank reserves the right to change these qualifying criteria.
The GD/PI may assess communication, personality, problem-solving ability, clarity, efficiency, sales aptitude and suitability for the Local Bank Officer role.
The notification provides the tentative structure of the online examination. The exam will consist of four sections with a total of 120 questions for 120 marks.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Duration | Language |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| English Language | 30 | 30 | 30 minutes | English |
| Banking Knowledge | 30 | 30 | 30 minutes | English & Hindi |

| Reasoning Ability & Quantitative Aptitude | 30 | 30 | 30 minutes | English & Hindi |
| Total | 120 | 120 | 120 minutes | — |
There is a separate 30-minute timing for each section. The English Language section is qualifying in nature, and its marks will not be considered for the final merit list.
There will be a penalty for wrong answers. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
There is no penalty for an unattempted question.
Important: The Bank has described this as a tentative exam structure and reserves the right to modify the examination pattern, including adding a descriptive test or case study.
The Local Bank Officer post is in JMG/S-I Scale. The pay scale mentioned in the notification is:
₹48,480 – ₹2,000 (7) – ₹62,480 – ₹2,340 (2) – ₹67,160 – ₹2,680 (7) – ₹85,920

Apart from basic pay, selected candidates will receive applicable allowances, benefits, perquisites and other facilities according to Bank of Baroda policies and the applicable industry-level banking settlements/Joint Note.
The Local Bank Officer recruitment has a specific local posting condition.
Selected candidates will be posted within the state for which they applied for the first 12 years of service or until their promotion to SMGS-IV Grade, whichever is earlier.
After that period, they may be posted by the Bank at its discretion to any branch or office or any location in India.
This makes the state selection at the application stage particularly important because the candidate’s candidature and merit list will be considered against the selected state.
Selected candidates will remain on probation for 12 months of active service from the date of joining the Bank.
Selected candidates are required to execute a service bond.
As per the current terms mentioned in the notification, a selected candidate is required to:
The Bank has clarified that the bond duration and amount may be revised according to its prevailing policies, with the applicable details communicated in the offer letter.

Major responsibilities include:
The recruitment provides 2,482 opportunities for Local Bank Officers across multiple states. The requirement of prior officer-level banking experience makes this recruitment particularly relevant for candidates who are already working as officers in Scheduled Commercial Banks and are looking for an opportunity with Bank of Baroda.
At the same time, candidates should carefully consider the state-wise application rule, local language requirement and posting condition before applying. Since candidates can apply for only one state and the merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise, selecting the appropriate state is an important part of the application process.
