The SBI Clerk exam is just around the corner, and this is the right time to push yourself a little more. We know you’ve already been preparing well, but now it’s time to turn that hard work into fruitful results with smart revision. Many students feel nervous about the English section, even after practicing a lot, and that’s okay. But remember, English can actually be your scoring section if you revise the right way. That’s why we’ve made a simple revision plan for you. Don’t just read the plan and forget it rather try to add it to your daily study routine. With just a little consistency, you’ll see your accuracy improve and your confidence rise.
When the exam is just a few weeks away, most students feel stressed and confused about what to revise and how much to practice. Some start picking random topics, while others just read notes without solving questions. But here the actual way that is revision at this stage should be practical and exam-oriented. You don’t need to learn anything new now; instead, you must focus on the topics that matter most in the exam.
Think of it like this: if Reading Comprehension (RC) has 7–10 questions in every paper, you already know it is unavoidable. If you have practiced enough, the moment you see an RC in the exam, you’ll quickly figure out these 3–4 questions I can solve confidently, these 1–2 I should skip. This clarity comes only with consistent practice of high-weightage topics. That is why your revision plan should revolve around RC, Cloze Test, Error Detection, and Fillers.
Along with this, you should also revise your grammar rules, vocabulary, and reading habits, because the English section is about answering questions, but also about understanding context.
All the necessary study materials are available here in one place so that you can prepare better and increase your chances of clearing the exam.
Every day, make it a habit to solve at least 1 Reading Comprehension (RC), 5–10 Cloze Test questions, and 5–10 Error Detection or Fillers. These topics carry the highest marks and are asked almost every year. If you include them in your daily routine, you can easily secure 25+ marks just from these topics. you have no other choice, you have to do it. Daily practice is not optional.
In the exam, you’ll face questions on a computer screen, not paper. Reading on screen feels different because your eyes need more focus, and scrolling can break your flow. That’s why you must practice directly on a laptop or desktop. While reading, note down new/difficult words in a notebook. This way, when you face a tricky RC with high-level vocabulary in the exam, you won’t lose your flow or get stuck.
English depends heavily on grammar and vocabulary. But at this stage, don’t try to learn everything. Focus only on the important rules: tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and connectors. Keep a notebook of rules and short examples. Revise 2–3 rules daily and apply them immediately by solving at least 10 questions. This keeps rules fresh in your mind and improves accuracy in Error Detection, Sentence Improvement, and Fillers. Along with this, build your vocabulary daily. Read a newspaper, write down at least 10 new words, and revise their synonyms/antonyms. Over time, this habit will make you stronger in every part of English.
The biggest challenge in SBI Clerk Prelims is time management. You don’t have enough time to think too long about any one question. So, fix mini time limits for practice: 7–8 minutes for one RC passage, 5 minutes for 5 Cloze Test questions, and 6 minutes for an Error Detection set. These small deadlines will help you to stay sharp under exam pressure. You’ll also develop the most important exam skill, knowing which questions to attempt and which to skip. It’s not necessary to solve every question.
As the exam gets closer, move from topic-wise practice to sectional and full-length mock. After every test, don’t just move on; analyze carefully, note down mistakes, reattempt those questions, and revise weak topics. Daily practice will also give you the ability to look at a question and immediately sense whether it will be solved in your time limit or whether it should be skipped. This tip is what separates toppers from average candidates.
