As mentioned above, both the SBI CBO and IBPS PO posts are Officer Scale 1 posts. The Job profile of both these positions is also almost the same. Also, there is not much difference in salary. In case of promotion, SBI CBO promotion is a little slower as compared to IBPS PO. The Job location in the IBPS PO is across India, whereas the SBI CBO is within the circle only. After promotion to SMGS, the SBI CBOs can apply for transfers. There is a shorter probation period in SBI CBO (6 months) as compared to the IBPS PO (2 years). After probation, the CBOs in SBI are directly appointed as officers, whereas the IBPS PO has to go through the Intensive Training programme. The work pressure in the SBI CBO is moderate, and the work pressure is higher in the IBPS PO. The freshers can apply for the IBPS PO after graduation only, and SBI CBO needs 2 years of experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank (RRB Officer). Thus, considering all these factors we can say that SBI CBO and IBPS PO both are suitable for candidates with different types of preference.
