RRB NTPC Revision Strategy: 30 Days to Crack the Exam

Home » RRB NTPC » RRB NTPC 30 Days Revision Strategy

The wait is finally over! The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced the exam dates for the RRB NTPC Graduate Level 2026 exam. The CBT-1 exam is scheduled to be held from 16th March to 27th March 2026. This means you have roughly 30 days left. If you are feeling a little nervous, that is completely normal. But let’s be honest—panic will not get you a job, but a solid revision plan will. In these final days, you don’t need to study hard; you need to study smart. You cannot read the whole book now. You need to focus only on what gives you marks. In this blog, we have provided a detailed, simple, and effective RRB NTPC Revision Strategy to help you secure your seat.

Most Important: Stop Learning New Topics

This is the most important rule. If you haven’t touched “Geometry” or “Economics” yet, leave it. Trying to learn a new complex chapter now will only confuse you and lower your confidence in what you do know.

  • Focus on Strength: If you are good at Arithmetic, practice 50 more questions of it to ensure you don’t lose a single mark there.
  • Trust Your Prep: You know enough to clear the cutoff. Now, just polish it.

1. Mathematics: Focus on Speed (30 Marks)

Maths in NTPC is not about difficulty; it is about speed. You have to solve questions in less than a minute.

Revision Plan:

  • Formulas: Every morning, spend 15 minutes just reading formulas of Mensuration (2D & 3D), Algebra, and Trigonometry.
  • Calculation: Memorize Squares up to 30, Cubes up to 20, and Tables up to 25. This saves a huge amount of time.
  • High Weightage Topics:
    • Data Interpretation (DI): Practice 2 sets daily. These are free marks.
    • Arithmetic: Revise Time & Work, Profit & Loss, and SI/CI.
    • Number System: Don’t ignore LCM/HCF and Divisibility rules.

2. General Intelligence & Reasoning (30 Marks)

This is your “Score Booster.” You should aim for 25+ marks here.

Revision Plan:

  • Coding-Decoding: Practice the “Number Coding” and “Letter Shifting” patterns daily.
  • Puzzles: Solve 2-3 Linear and Circular seating arrangements every day. Don’t spend more than 3 minutes on one puzzle.
  • Logical Reasoning: Revise the rules for Syllogism (Venn Diagram) and Statement & Conclusion.
  • Mock Drill: Try to finish the Reasoning section of a mock test in 20 minutes.

3. General Awareness (40 Marks) – The Game Changer

This section has the highest weightage. But the syllabus is like an ocean. Be selective.

Revision Plan:

  • Current Affairs: Focus on the last 8 months (July 2025 – Feb 2026).
    • Topics: Awards, Sports (Cricket/Olympics), New Appointments, and Govt Schemes.
  • Static GK: Revise Folk Dances, Temples, National Parks, and Important Days.
  • Science:
    • Biology: Vitamins, Diseases, Human Body.
    • Chemistry: Chemical names (e.g., Baking Soda), Periodic Table basics.
    • Physics: SI Units, Light/Lens formulas.
  • Polity: Just read the Fundamental Rights, President, and Important Amendments.

The “Mock Test” Strategy

For the next 30 days, Mock Tests are your best teacher.

  1. Frequency: Attempt one full-length mock test every day at the same time as your exam shift (if you know it).
  2. Analysis (Most Important): Spending 90 minutes on the test is useless if you don’t spend 60 minutes analyzing it.
    • Check which questions you skipped.
    • Check where you made “silly mistakes.”
  3. Accuracy: Stop guessing! There is 1/3rd negative marking. If you are not sure, skip it. Scoring 70 with high accuracy is better than attempting 90 with 30 wrong answers.

Health and Mindset

  • Sleep: Your brain needs rest to recall formulas. Sleep for 7-8 hours.
  • Routine: Stop studying late at night. Wake up early to align your body clock with the exam timing.

Final Words: You have worked hard for this. The next 30 days are just about believing in yourself and staying disciplined.

You are ready. You are capable. Go and crack it.
