RRB Junior Engineer (JE) 2026 exam dates have been officially announced. The CBT-1 exam is scheduled for 19th, 20th February, and 3rd March 2026. If you are one of the thousands of engineering aspirants appearing for this exam, you must be careful about one thing: Time Management. And this starts before the exam begins. Reaching the exam center late is a nightmare you want to avoid. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is very strict about gate closure timings. Even being 1 minute late means they will not allow you to enter the exam hall. To help you plan your travel and reach safely, we have detailed the RRB JE Shift Timings 2026 below.

RRB JE 2026 Shift Timings (Expected Schedule)

The RRB JE CBT-1 is a 90-minute (1.5 hours) exam. Based on the standard Railway exam pattern, it is usually conducted in 3 shifts per day. Here is the detailed schedule. Please note that you must focus on the Reporting Time, not the exam start time.

Important Warning: Gates close exactly at the “Gate Closing Time.” It is highly recommended to reach the center at least 30 minutes before the Reporting Time.

When Will You Know Your Exact Shift?

You cannot choose your shift; RRB allots it to you. You will get to know your specific shift and city through two documents:

  1. Exam City Intimation Slip:
    • Release Date: 10 days before the exam (Around 9th February 2026).
    • Details: It tells you the City, Date, and Shift of your exam so you can book travel tickets.
  2. e-Call Letter (Admit Card):
    • Release Date: 4 days before your exam date.
    • Details: It tells you the exact Exam Centre Name & Address.

Important Exam Day Instructions

  • Carry Original ID: You must bring an original Photo ID like Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID. Photocopies are not allowed.
  • Biometric Verification: There will be Aadhaar-linked biometric verification. Ensure your fingers are clean and dry.
  • Banned Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and metal jewelry are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
  • Self-Declaration: You might need to fill in a paragraph on the screen/admit card in your handwriting. Follow instructions carefully.
