Last Minute Preparation Tips for RRB JE 2026 Exam

Don’t Start Any New Topics

This is the biggest mistake students make. If you haven’t studied “Trigonometry” or “Organic Chemistry” yet, leave it. Trying to learn a new concept 3 days before the exam will only confuse you and lower your confidence in what you do know.

• Do this instead: Focus on strengthening your strong areas. If you are good at Arithmetic, practice 10 more questions of “Time & Work” to ensure you don’t lose marks there.

Subject-Wise Final Revision Strategy

You have 4 sections to cover. Here is how to revise them smartly in less time:

A. Mathematics (30 Marks)

• Don’t solve long problems now. Just review the formulas.
• Revise: Formulas for Mensuration (Volume/Area), Algebra identities (a^3+b^3), and Trigonometry values (Sin 30, Cos 60).
• Focus: BODMAS, Number System, and Ratio methods. These are easy and high-scoring.

B. General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Marks)

• This is your “Score Booster.”
• Revise: Alphabet ranks (A=1, M=13, Z=26) for Coding-Decoding.
• Practice: Just solve 2-3 questions of “Syllogism” and “Blood Relations” to keep the logic fresh in your mind.

C. General Science (30 Marks) – Crucial Section!

• This section carries equal weightage to Maths!
• Physics: Revise formulas of Light (Mirror/Lens), Electricity (V=IR), and Motion.
• Chemistry: Look at the Periodic Table (first 20 elements), Chemical names (Baking Soda, Washing Soda), and pH values.
• Biology: Revise Vitamins (Deficiency diseases) and Human Body systems.

D. General Awareness (15 Marks)

• Don’t pick up a history book now. It’s too vast.
• Focus Only On: Current Affairs of the last 6 months (Sports, Awards, Appointments) and Static GK (Folk Dances, National Parks).

The “Mock Test” Strategy for the Last Days

Should you take mock tests now?

• Yes, but stop 2 days before the exam.
• If your exam is on 19th Feb, stop taking full mocks on 17th Feb.
• Why? If you get a low score a day before the exam, it will destroy your confidence.
• Instead: Analyze your old mock tests. See where you made silly mistakes and promise yourself not to repeat them.

Beware of the “Negative Marking” Trap

Remember, 1/3rd (0.33) marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

• The Trap: In the last 10 minutes of the exam, students panic and start guessing blindly.
• The Fix: If you are unsure, SKIP IT. In RRB JE, accuracy is more important than attempts. Scoring 70 with high accuracy is better than attempting 90 with 25 wrong answers.

Things to Check Before the Exam Day

Take a Good Sleep Before the Exam Day

• Sleep for at least 7-8 hours the night before.
• A tired brain makes calculation errors. A fresh brain spots tricks easily.
• Don’t try to take any topic or full-length mock test
