Swapnojay Chattopadhyay’s Success Story

I started my preparation in 2018 July. At first my journey was not that good as expected before starting. I didn’t have the proper guidance and struggled to clear even preliminary exam also. But my perseverance made me achieve what i aimed for.

Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?

I have given many exams till date. In 2018 i started with ibps po and ibps clerk. in 2019 i gave all exams and qualified maximum of the prelims but didn’t qualify in the main exams. In 2020 i cleared all Pre and given Interviews of all the PO exams but couldn’t qualify. Finally in 2021 I cleared RRB PO with 106.63 marks in the main and got 55.65 marks in the final merit list(Allotted to Bangiya Gramin Vikash Bank as an Officer Scale 1) I have also given SBI PO main exam on 2nd January and also having IBPS PO main exam on 22nd January.

English Section Preparation Strategy

For English i only relied on Practice Mock free quizzes and Mock tests. The best way to improve English is to read quality materials instead and make it your daily habit. It’s not necessary to read The Hindu newspaper. You can read anything good but the main thing is how much you are understanding. Then practice from quizzes and mocks.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

For quant 1st clear the basic of the arithmetic topics from any teacher then practice from basic books like R S Aggarwal. Also daily practice speed maths like daily 20 simplification 20 series 20 quadratic equations. Once you are well versed with the basics then the only way to master quant is to keep solving quizzes and mocks.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

For reasoning the same is applicable like Quantitative Aptitude. Practice is the key. Make routines of which topic to be practiced daily and then stick to it.

I was only not qualifying main exams only due to poor performances in GA section. Read from any one primary detailed source and keep another source for Mcq questions only. then give quizzes regularly before Main exam.

Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced

i didn’t follow any particular schedule. I had one thing in mind, that is to clear and become an officer. once i was done with my basics i only gave mock tests regularly. My target was to give as many mock test as i can including analyzing it properly and then working on my weak areas after analyzing .My whole preparation schedule was only based on implementing these things.

Yes a lot. I have failed more than 20+ prelims and 15+ Main exams including both banking and insurance exams. there were times when i thought of giving up but whenever such thoughts same i only questioned me one question, ‘ if you were to quit then why did you begin’. I want to say one thing, we are preparing for Govt exams and for that perseverance is required. If we were to give up then we would have gone for any private sector jobs.
