Hi friends, I started my preparation journey in the year 2018 for CGL. But since SSC is too too too slow in its recruitment processes, I decided to switch over to Banking & Insurance Exams and started preparing for the same from the mid of 2020.

Which exams did you appear in till date?

• CGL – 2018 => Only Prelims Cleared
• CGL – 2019 => Pre, Mains, Descriptive and CPT cleared. Awaiting Final result.
• SBI Clerk 2021 => Cleared the MAINS.
• RRB PO 2021 => Gave the interview. Awaiting Final result.
• IBPS PO 2021 => Awaiting Prelims result.
• SBI PO 2021 => Awaiting Prelims result

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

All the arithmetic portion were covered during my intial preparation days when I was enthusiastically preparing for CGL. So, after switching to Banking sector exams, I focused more on these 5 topics:

1. Missing Number Series

2. Wrong Number Series

3. Quadratic Equation

4. Simplication

5. Approximation.

After having command over these topics, I started attempting quizzes on platforms like Adda247, PracticeMock, GradeUp and SmartKeeda. (Yes, all of them). Attempting time bound speed quizzes really helped a lot in improving speed and accuracy. Also, I religiously followed the videos in SBI PO Playlist uploaded by MeritShine on its YouTube channel.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

This was my most dreaded section. I had zero knowledge in this section. So I searched for contents on YouTube. And I found “Zero To Hero” Playlist by Adda247 there. I followed all the reasoning lectures there as it covered topics from the basics and went up to the Mains level questions. After completing a topic I practiced its questions from PDFs. For puzzles I followed Ankush Lamba Sor too. It still takes me 3-4 mins to solve even a prelims puzzle. And its fine with me. One cannot be a pro at everything. So I made other topics my strength. Accuracy is my top priority in this section. For reasoning quizzes, I preferred only PracticeMock and Adda247.

Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced

Schedule : Hell No. The only good thing that could be said about my strategy is that I attempted quizzes on a daily basis. That’s it. Nothing hi-fi. Though I missed them on some occasions but covered them in the days that followed. I faced many challenges. Lack of concentration, retention to name a few. But things fall in place automatically when we keep working on the issues that we may face. Slowly and Steadily.
