Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

Quantitative aptitude was always a weak point for me so I started my preparation with quant only and (most topics are from school syllabus only) the basic concepts in 10-15 days and then I focused solely on mocks(sectional and full).

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

Before September 2021 I haven’t even touched reasoning in my life. That threshold of attempting seating arrangement and puzzles took some time but practice and mocks helped me sail through.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

Some people say general awareness can be game changer in banking (mains) exam which is true to some extent, but this year the general awareness section of IBPS PO was bit tricky (which was perceptible in Cutoff). I relied on the daily,weekly and monthly compilation of just one source. Regular Newspaper reading can be very helpful in retaining thousands of facts. Even some advertisement in newspapers by states and central government helped me in retaining the schemes and announcements.

Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced

I started my preparation very late (last week of August 2021). SBI PO exam was approaching so I devoted almost 13-14 hours daily. I attempted 3-4 mocks daily from various platforms and I would say, attempting maximum mocks is the only strategy you can follow. During the early days of my preparation phase the banking exams seemed impossible to me. As the time went by and as the number of mocks attempted by me are increasing the marks scored by me in mocks are also increasing. Good friends and family can also play great role in your preparation phase. My family was always there and supported me with everything I needed. I have a friend who was preparing for last 2 years so that experience also helped me in clearing this exam in just 3 months of preparation.

First thing you need Is confidence, that you can do it. Times will come when you will get hopeless, but don’t give up. Be consistent and have some patience, these exams take some time. You need to become aloof for some time to focus on this exam you have to choose between what you want now and what you want ‘the’ most.
