SSC GD 2026 Notification Out for 25487 Posts, Check Latest Information
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC GD 2026 exam date on its website (ssc.gov.in) to conduct the CBT exam. It is scheduled to be conducted from February 23, 2026, onwards. Candidates whose applications are accepted will be eligible to appear in this exam. For these candidates, SSC will provide the self-slot selection, and then they will release the admit card. Self slot selection will help you to select your exam date, slot, etc. The admit card will allow them to get entry to the examination hall. For the online application, candidates are required to upload certain important documents during SSC GD 2026 form filling. Below are the details of those documents. Candidates are advised to check all the documents before applying online.
Documents Required for SSC GD 2026 Application Form
The SSC GD 2026 Selection Process consists of four stages: Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and the Medical Test. Candidates who will clear the last round, which is a medical test, will have to appear for the document verification. All stages are qualifying stages that candidates need to clear.

Before preparing for the exam, understanding the SSC GD Exam Pattern is essential. The SSC GD 2026 Exam consists of four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. Each section consists of 20 questions. There are 80 questions in the exam that candidates are required to attempt in 60 minutes.

Note:
Candidates who will clear Paper 1 will be eligible to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The efficiency will be measured by the race. There is a limit set for candidates who belong to the Ladakh region and for candidates who don’t belong to the Ladakh region.

The SSC conducts the SSC GD Constable 2026 Physical Standard Test to examine the candidates’ physical ability. Candidates will be examined for both chest (only males) and height. The initial salary of an SSC GD (General Duty) Constable is Rs 23,527 per month. The basic pay is between 21,700 to 69,100.
