The State Bank of India (SBI) has made its most extensive recruitment drive to appoint 18,000 candidates for the financial year 2025-26 (FY26). SBI Chairman CS Shetty announced the 18000 vacancies to hire, including probationary officer (PO), local bank officer (LBO), and other posts.   • Clerical Staff (Junior Associates): Approximately 13,500 to 14,000 vacancies are designated for clerical positions, focusing on customer service and branch operations.
  • Probationary Officers (POs) and Local-Based Officers (LBOs): Around 3,000 positions are available for POs and LBOs, targeting graduates aspiring for managerial roles within the bank.
  • System Officers (Specialist Cadre): SBI plans to recruit 1,600 system officers, marking a significant investment in its technological capabilities and the first substantial hiring in this category in nearly ten years.

  • Focus on Technology Roles: The bank is also emphasizing technological advancements by hiring approximately 1,500 professionals in specialized IT roles such as data scientists, data architects, and network operators.
  • Branch Expansion: SBI plans to open between 400 to 600 new branches across the country in FY 2025, focusing on emerging areas and large residential townships.
