Here is a detailed  long-term preparation strategy to help you crack both stages of the RRB PO 2025 exam:

 1. Understand the Exam Pattern and Syllabus Thoroughly

Before starting preparation, spend 2–3 days going through:

  • Prelims & Mains exam pattern (sectional timing, marks, language options).
  • Syllabus of each section: Reasoning, Quant, GA, English/Hindi, Computer.
  • Understand the types of questions asked and what weightage they carry.

 2. Analyze Previous Year Papers

  • Download at least 3 years’ papers.
  • Identify:
    • Frequently asked topics (e.g., puzzles, DI, simplification, RC).
    • Difficulty level shifts.
    • Section-wise weightage and common traps.

 3. Build Strong Fundamentals (First 3 Weeks)

Focus on concept clarity in:

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Start with simplification, number series, arithmetic basics, and DI.
  • Reasoning Ability: Begin with inequalities, syllogism, directions, and basic puzzles.
  • Language Section (English/Hindi): Practice grammar rules, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and cloze tests.
  • Computer Awareness: Revise theory-based topics, shortcuts, abbreviations.
  • GA: Begin with static awareness and previous 3-month current affairs.

 4. Start Mains Preparation Alongside

Don’t wait until Prelims are over.

  • Give at least 1 hour daily to Mains topics:
    • General Awareness: Read a daily CA PDF, weekly summary, and banking news.
    • Computer Awareness: Study one topic daily from a reliable guide.
    • Mains-level DI & Puzzles: Practice higher-difficulty sets 2–3 times a week.
    • Descriptive Writing: Once a week, write one letter and one essay.

 5. Practice Topic-Wise Tests and Mini Mocks (Week 4 Onwards)

  • After completing basics, start:
    • Topic-wise tests from platforms like PracticeMock or Oliveboard.
    • Mini-mocks (20–25 Qs) for each subject thrice a week.
    • Focus on accuracy, timing, and analysis.

 What to focus on?

  • Quant: Simplification, arithmetic, caselet DI.
  • Reasoning: Puzzles, seating arrangement, input-output.
  • English/Hindi: Vocabulary, grammar, fillers, sentence arrangement.

 6. Build Speed and Accuracy

  • Focus on speed boosters:
    • For Quant: Approximation, Quadratic Equations, Number Series.
    • For Reasoning: Linear puzzles, direction-based puzzles, blood relation-based problems.
  • Set a timer while practicing.
  • Maintain 90%+ accuracy — don’t guess unnecessarily.

7. Revision and Notes Maintenance

  • Revise every Sunday:
    • GA notes from the week.
    • Formulas and shortcuts you noted down.
    • Vocabulary and grammar rules.
  • Maintain a “Weekly Mistake Tracker” to avoid repeating errors.

8. Take Full-Length Mock Tests (Last 4 Weeks)

  • Attempt 10–15 full-length mocks before the Prelims exam.
    • Simulate real exam conditions.
    • Analyze each mock: what went wrong and why?
    • Identify time-wasting questions.

 Mock Test Strategy:

  • 1 mock every 2 days → last 10 days: 1 daily mock.
  • Use analysis to tweak your exam-time approach.

9. Interview Preparation (Optional but Smart)

  • Once you’re confident about Mains prep, start preparing answers to:
    • Tell me about yourself.
    • Why do you want to join RRB?
    • Questions on banking & rural economy.

Final 10 Days Strategy

  • Avoid learning new topics.
  • Focus on mock test + analysis + revision only.
  • Keep a daily checklist of topics revised.
  • Stay healthy, manage sleep, and avoid burnout.
