Eligibility Criteria for RRB ALP

To get this job, you need to meet some basic education rules. The language in official notices can be tricky, so here is the simple version.

Educational Qualification for RRB ALP 2026

You must have one of the following:

1. 10th Pass (Matriculation) + ITI Certificate: Your ITI must be from a recognized institute in trades like Electrician, Fitter, Mechanic, Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, etc.
2. 10th Pass + Act Apprenticeship: You must have completed the course in the accepted trades.
3. Diploma: A 3-year diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.
4. Engineering Degree: Graduates with degrees in the engineering fields mentioned above are also allowed to apply.

Age Limit for RRB ALP 2026

Age is a big factor in government jobs. For this exam, your age will be counted as of 1st July 2026.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years

Age Relaxation Rules:

The government gives some extra years to apply if you belong to certain categories:

• SC/ST Candidates: 5 extra years (up to 35 years of age)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 extra years (up to 33 years of age)
• PWD Candidates: 10 extra years
• Ex-Servicemen: Plus 3 years after their service time.
