It’s all about logic, quick thinking, and practice. In this article we will see what should be the reasoning preparation strategy for NABARD Grade A 2025.
Reasoning can be a very scoring section for you if you study smartly and practice regularly. Get your concepts clear. The questions are designed to test your analytical thinking and problem-solving ability under pressure. The NABARD Grade A is divided into 3 parts : Prelims (Phase 1), Mains (Phase 2), and the Interview round.

In the Prelims exam, the Reasoning section comprises 20 questions for 20 marks. Each question carries 1 mark, and there’s negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer.
Although the number of questions is fewer compared to other sections, this is your golden chance to maximize accuracy and minimize silly mistakes. You don’t need to attempt all 20 questions. Aim for high accuracy in at least 14–16 questions to stay competitive.
Time management is also very important. Don’t spend more than 15–20 minutes on this section. If a question seems time-consuming, skip it and return later if time allows.
A strong foundation in reasoning can be built only with the right mix of conceptual clarity and rigorous practice. In the table below, we have mentioned some books that will help you with your practice.
| Book Title | Author / Publisher | Why This Book? |
|---|---|---|
| A Modern Approach to Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning | R.S. Aggarwal | A classic choice to build fundamental concepts in reasoning. Covers all topics with ample practice questions. |
| Analytical Reasoning | M.K. Pandey (BSC Publishing) | Best for strengthening analytical reasoning concepts like puzzles, seating arrangements, etc. |
If you’re someone who just doesn’t get along with lengthy theoretical subjects, then Reasoning Ability will be your happy place. You don’t need to cram anything. Just clear your concepts and practice consistently. Improve your speed, and most importantly, stay calm during the exam. You have got this.
