RBI Grade B 2024 English Preparation Strategy: The English section in RBI Grade B Phase 1 is one of the scoring and trickiest sections. This section carries 30 marks/30 questions weightage in Phase 1. Initially, we called the English section scoring tricky. For many aspirants, it may sound confusing. Without proper grammar knowledge, you cannot fetch marks in English. In Phase 1, the English section is scoring only when you know how to apply grammar rules to solve reading comprehension, vocab-based questions, para jumbles, and close tests. Start your English preparation by strengthening your grammar. Then, move to solve questions and mock tests.

Topic-Wise English Preparation Tips for RBI Grade B

The level of English questions asked in Phase 1 is moderate considering past-year trends. Candidates have to focus on grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension to get marks. Reading Comprehension

  • Around 10 questions asked in reading comprehension to test ability to grasp the topic and get correct answers.
  • Attempt comprehension by going to the first and last paragraph to understand the tone.
  • Then, attempt questions while going through reading comprehension.
  • Get your answers carefully.
  • Don’t forget to recheck your attempted questions.

Cloze Test

  • In the cloze test, candidates get a passage with fill in the blanks.
  • Look for the correct option to attempt cloze test questions.
  • Take smart moves to determine logical connections.
  • Start eliminating wrong options to get the correct answer and fetch marks.

Fill in the Blanks

  • Go through the question first to analyze all possibilities to get accurate attempts.

Sentence Rearrangement

Error Spotting

  • Be thorough with grammar concepts and parts of speech to attempt error-spotting questions.

  • Practice solving previous year’s papers.
