The Life Insurance Corporation of India is a Public Sector insurance company headquartered in Mumbai. This year, they have released a notification of 350 vacancies for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) under the generalist category. The online application has already started, and students have started their preparation as well. To have a journey that is smooth and one that takes you to the top is to have a solid study plan. In this blog, we are going to discuss the LIC AAO Study Plan 2025, but before that, let’s discuss the exam pattern and most important topics so that you can get an idea of how you should prepare for the exam.
The LIC AAO 2025 study plan contains day-wise topic distribution for each subject. A separate slot for the mock test and analysis has been given to you. Every day, you need to include 4 study slots in your daily routine. The first slot should be of a subject that you are weak in (reasoning or quant). The second study slot should be any of the other subjects (for example, reasoning). Similarly, plan your next study slots to utilize each day effectively. Remember that English is only qualifying in the LIC AAO Mains and Prelims. There is no negative marking in the LIC AAO exam. Therefore, you can attempt all questions with maximum accuracy, and your chances of selection will be higher this time.
The LIC AAO Prelims exam contains three sections- Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language, with special emphasis on grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension. The reasoning ability section consists of 35 questions, which are of 35 marks. The quantitative section consists of 35 questions, which are of 35 marks, and the English section contains 30 questions, of 30 marks.

Here is a day-wise, detailed 30-day study plan for LIC AAO 2025. The study plan is made after thorough research and interviews conducted with past year toppers. You can prefer this plan and make changes according to your convenience. The study plan is made daily. You have to devote at least 8 hours every day. In a day, divide your time in such a manner that you give 2 hours to each subject. Another important aspect is to revise regularly. In the table below, we have included all the revision sessions and mock tests along with the analysis part. On the day on which the mock test or mini test is scheduled, you have to devote one extra hour to your study schedule. We know studying for eight hours can be a challenging task, and no one can do it in one go, especially if you don’t have a habit of learning or reading. So on day 1, start with 5 hours of study and gradually increase the time.

If you’re someone who has started their preparation in the last 20 days, then how you should clear this exam is way different from the 30-day plan. So we have created a 20-day plan where more focus is given on practicing questions using mock tests, and a list of important topics is also given in order to help you in your preparation. You can visit the blog for further details.
When it comes to a section-wise master preparation strategy, one thing to note is that, compared to other insurance exams, there is no negative marking in the examination. The preparation strategy is going to be the same, but the fact that you can now give a larger number of attempts in the examination without worrying about any negative marking can increase the time you spend on a single question. Remember, there is a sectional time limit of 20 minutes for each section.
Practice at least 3-4 puzzles daily, try to solve easy puzzles first, so that you get an idea of the reasoning section, and you develop confidence in solving questions. After preparing easy topics, jump to advanced puzzles and syllogisms. During this time, whenever you are solving questions, try to incorporate the tricks and techniques required to solve them. By practicing questions only, you will become accustomed to tricks and techniques. Also, after syllogs, move to alphanumeric series and then to odd one out, and then to pair formation.
To master quants, first learn the basics of percentages, ratios, and percentage-ratio conversion, along with cubes and squares. One more important topic is decimal-fraction conversion. These are the topics that are used to solve 90% questions. After mastering the basics, move to solving DIs and advanced arithmetic questions based on time and work. Topics like mixture and alligation are quite complex, so avoid them if you’re less on time. Again quants section requires rigorous practice. This also helps in building speed with accuracy. One important thing to remember, when you just start your preparation, is to focus on accuracy as a priority and then maintain speed. Last but not least important tip is to focus on the given list of important topics, which are more than sufficient.
The English language requires daily revision of vocabulary, and this can be done by reading newspaper editorials on a daily basis. When you are preparing for RCs, make sure you read between the lines means you are reading and understanding the meaning of the paragraph. Practice grammar rules through error detection questions along with revision. One more important thing is to make a chart of grammar rules and stick it to a place where you study daily.
Focus on most scoring Topics: Revise Reasoning (Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Inequalities, Syllogism) and Quant (Simplification, DI, Quadratic, Number Series). Start with the scoring topics and avoid starting anything new at this stage to save time and energy.
Practice Previous Year Questions: Solve 2–3 previous year papers under timed conditions to identify repeated questions and understand exam patterns. This also helps you improve accuracy and manage your time effectively during the actual exam.
Make Short Notes: Keep formulas, shortcuts, DI tricks, and number series patterns handy for quick last-minute revision. Having concise notes ensures you can glance through important points without wasting time on lengthy material.
Attempt Mock Tests Wisely: Take 1–2 full-length mocks and analyse mistakes carefully to revise only weak areas. Focus on balancing speed and accuracy rather than attempting too many mocks in the last days.
Time Management Strategy: Start with your strongest section, solve easy questions first, then moderate, and finally, the difficult ones. Avoid getting stuck on high-difficulty questions; mark them and return if time permits to maximize score.
Last-Day Tips: Revise only your notes and formulas, do not try to learn new topics, and ensure proper sleep to stay alert. Keep all exam essentials ready, including admit card, ID, and stationery, to avoid last-minute stress.
