The Jammu & Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) has officially released the notification for the engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. 2. Vacancy Distribution

J&K Bank is looking to engage a total of 614 Apprentices. These vacancies are distributed across various districts in J&K, Ladakh, and several metro cities where the bank has a presence.

  • UT of J&K: Major vacancies in Srinagar (75), Jammu (54), Baramulla (50), and Anantnag (45).
  • UT of Ladakh: Leh (11), Kargil (11).
  • Outside J&K (Other Regions): Delhi (14), Mumbai (11), Pune (5), Bengaluru (4), etc.

Note: Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one district/region and must be proficient in the local language.


3. Eligibility Criteria (As of Jan 1, 2026)

Before you apply, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Age Limit: * Minimum: 20 Years
    • Maximum: 28 Years
    • Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
  • Domicile: Candidates must belong to the respective District/Region/State for which they are applying.

4. Stipend & Training Period

  • Duration: The apprenticeship is for a period of one year.
  • Monthly Stipend: ₹10,500 (This includes the Government’s share under NATS).
  • Note: Apprentices are not entitled to any other allowances (HRA, DA, etc.) or benefits provided to regular employees.

5. Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Selection will be based on an Online Written Examination. There is no mention of an interview in the notification, making the written test the single most important hurdle.

  • The paper will be in English only.
  • Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.25) marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Sectional Timing: You will have exactly 15 minutes for each section.

6. Application Fee

The fee must be paid online between April 20 and April 26:

  • General/Unreserved/OBC/EWS: ₹700
  • SC/ST/PwBD: ₹500

Since the exam consists of four standard banking sections (Quant, Reasoning, English, and GA), the level of difficulty is expected to be similar to an IBPS Clerk or SBI Apprentice level.
