IPPB Recruitment 2025-26: Overview

Vacancy Details

India Post Payments Bank Limited has released recruitment notification IPPB/CO/HR/RECT./2025-26/04 for filling 309 positions on deputation/foreign service basis. These positions are distributed across two key grades:

  • Junior Associate: 199 vacancies
  • Assistant Manager (Scale-I): 110 vacancies

The total of 309 vacancies represents a significant expansion initiative aimed at strengthening IPPB’s operational capabilities across its banking outlet network.

Eligibility for Deputation

This recruitment drive is exclusively available to regular employees from specific organizations. Eligible candidates must be working in:

  • Central Government departments and agencies
  • State Government departments and agencies
  • Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs)
  • Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)
  • Autonomous Bodies

Importantly, this is a deputation-based recruitment, meaning employees transfer from their parent organizations to IPPB temporarily while maintaining their connection to their original department.

Vacancy Distribution and Posting Locations

Geographic Spread

The recruitment spans across all major states and union territories of India. The detailed annexure provided in the official notification lists specific banking outlet locations where vacancies exist, enabling candidates to apply for positions in their preferred locations.

Candidates applying for IPPB deputation positions must follow specific guidelines:

  • Each candidate may apply for only one vacancy across one specific branch or banking outlet
  • A candidate cannot apply for multiple locations simultaneously

Selection Process

Merit-Based Selection

The selection process prioritizes academic merit and professional qualifications:

  • Selection Criterion: Merit list will be drawn based on the percentage of marks obtained in graduation
  • Tiebreaker Rule: In case of equal graduation percentages, candidates are selected based on earlier date of birth
  • Bank’s Right: IPPB reserves the right to conduct Assessment Tests, Online Tests, Group Discussions, or Interviews if deemed necessary

Percentage Calculation

Accurate percentage calculation is critical, with specific guidelines:

  • Candidates must fill the exact graduation percentage to two decimal places
  • Percentage is calculated by dividing total marks obtained across all subjects and semesters by the aggregate maximum marks, regardless of honors or optional subjects
  • For universities awarding grades instead of percentages (GPA/CGPA/CQPI), candidates must convert these to equivalent percentages using the formula provided by their college or university
  • Any deviation found in the application form will result in summary rejection

Mandatory No Objection Certificate

At the time of application, candidates must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their parent organization containing:

  • Detailed statement regarding any major or minor penalties imposed on the employee during the last 5 years
  • Vigilance Clearance Certificate from the competent authority
  • Relieving condition confirming that if selected, the employee shall be relieved within 30 days

Applications with incomplete or absent NOC requirements are summarily rejected at the merit preparation stage without any intimation.

Pay and Allowances

Compensation Structure

Officers appointed on deputation have flexibility in compensation selection: They may elect to draw either:

  • The pay in the scale of the deputation/foreign service post (IPPB’s pay scale), or
  • Their basic pay in the parent cadre plus deputation allowance thereon, plus any personal pay if applicable

This flexible compensation model allows candidates to choose the option that best suits their financial circumstances.

Tenure and Employment Terms

Initial Tenure

The initial deputation tenure is for one year, which may be reviewed and extended on a year-to-year basis for a maximum of two additional years, subject to satisfactory performance and business requirements.

Important Restrictions

  • No Regular Absorption: Candidates selected on deputation shall not be eligible for regular absorption into IPPB
  • Mandatory Cooling-Off Period: There is a mandatory “cooling off” period of two years after every period of deputation. Officers previously engaged with IPPB are eligible to apply only if they are not currently in the cooling-off period

Performance Review and Repatriation

Business performance is reviewed every six months. If performance is found unsatisfactory over two consecutive reviews, the engaged officer may be repatriated after serving a one-month notice period.

Leave and Benefits

Leave, pension, gratuity, and other benefits are regulated according to the rules of the parent department. No additional deputation allowance or supplementary financial benefits are admissible beyond those permitted under existing government instructions.

Terms and Conditions of Deputation

Conduct and Performance

The performance of deputed officials is subject to periodic review. Unsatisfactory performance or misconduct may lead to premature repatriation at any time during the tenure.

Travel and Joining

Travel Allowance (TA) and Dearness Allowance (DA) for joining and repatriation are provided as per the rules of the borrowing organization or as admissible under deputation terms.

Management Discretion

The borrowing organization (IPPB) reserves the right to cancel or modify the terms and conditions of deputation at any stage before onboarding without assigning any reason. Any additional terms and conditions pertaining to deputation are governed by IPPB’s deputation policy as revised from time to time.

Actions Against Misconduct

Strict Conduct Policy

IPPB maintains a stringent policy regarding candidate conduct and integrity. Candidates found guilty of any of the following may face severe consequences:

  • Using unfair means during the selection process
  • Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person
  • Resorting to irregular or improper means in connection with candidature
  • Canvassing for candidature or obtaining support through any means

Consequences

Candidates may face multiple penalties:

  • Disqualification: Permanent disqualification from the current recruitment process
  • Debarment: Permanent or specified period debarment from any examination or recruitment conducted by IPPB
  • Criminal Prosecution: Rendering themselves liable to criminal prosecution
  • Dismissal: Dismissal from IPPB service at any time, even after selection and joining

Application Integrity

Candidates must provide accurate information throughout the application process. False, incorrect, tampered, or fabricated information—or any concealment or suppression of material information—can result in disqualification at any stage or even after joining IPPB.

General Instructions for Applicants

Application Submission Guidelines

The organization has established clear protocols for application submission:

  • Incomplete applications in any respect will be summarily rejected without further correspondence
  • No other mode of submission besides online application is accepted under any circumstances
  • All discrepancies between online data and original testimonies will result in candidature rejection
  • Any false, incorrect, or non-conforming information discovered at any stage can lead to rejection
