If you are preparing for the RRB NTPC exam, you already know that General Awareness is the real king. In CBT 1, it carries 40 marks, and in CBT 2, it jumps to 50 marks! Out of this massive section, the Indian Constitution (Polity) gives you a solid 3 to 4 direct questions in almost every shift. Many students get scared thinking they have to memorize hundreds of tough legal Articles, boring dates, and heavy law books. But here is a big secret: the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) does not want you to be a lawyer. They only ask very basic, famous, and repeated questions about the rules of our country. If you know simple things like the minimum age to become the Prime Minister or what our fundamental rights are, you can easily grab these free marks. To make your preparation super easy, we have provided exam-level Indian Constitution questions with detailed solutions below. Practicing these will definitely help you master this subject quickly.

What is the Indian Constitution? (Explained in Simple Words)

You do not need to read thick civil services books to pass this section. In simple words, the Indian Constitution is just the “Main Rulebook of India.” It tells us how our country is run, what our basic rights are, and what powers the Prime Minister, President, or Judges have.

For the RRB NTPC exam, you can divide the whole syllabus into three easy parts:

  • Making of the Constitution: Read basic facts like who wrote it, who was the chairman, how much time it took to make it, and from which countries we borrowed important rules (like taking Fundamental Rights from the USA).
  • Fundamental Rights and Duties: This is the most asked topic! Just read what rights you have as a normal citizen (like the right to equality or freedom of speech) and what your 11 basic duties are.
  • Important Posts & Parliament: Read about the minimum age, oath, and retirement of the President, Prime Minister, Governor, and Chief Minister. Also, read basic facts about the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

If you just focus on these three simple areas, the Constitution will become your most scoring subject!

5 Simple Tips to Prepare Indian Constitution for RRB NTPC

You do not need to be a law student to score full marks in this topic. Just keep a cool head and follow these 5 easy tips:

  • Do Not Memorize All Articles: There are nearly 400 Articles. Do not try to learn all of them! Just memorize the basic ones related to Fundamental Rights (12 to 35), Duties (51A), and the President (52 to 61).
  • Make a “Numbers” Chart: Railway exams love asking about numbers. Make a small paper chart of minimum ages (Lok Sabha = 25, Rajya Sabha = 30, President = 35) and stick it on your wall.
  • Make a “Borrowed Features” List: Write down a simple list of what we copied from other countries. (Example: Fundamental Rights from USA, Amendment rule from South Africa). This guarantees one mark!
  • Use Simple Books Only: Do not buy heavy UPSC books like M. Laxmikanth for the RRB NTPC exam. A simple summary book like Lucent’s GK or Arihant is more than enough to get full marks.
  • Practice Previous Year Papers: The RRB board copies its GK questions all the time. Solve the previous year’s Polity questions of RRB NTPC, Group D, and ALP. You will start seeing the exact same questions repeating.

You do not need to memorize all parts. Just focus on the most important ones, like Part 3 (Fundamental Rights), Part 4 (DPSPs), and the 12 Schedules.

4. Which Constitutional Amendment is known as the “Mini Constitution”?

The 42nd Amendment Act of 1976 is called the Mini Constitution because it made many huge changes, like adding the words Socialist, Secular, and Integrity to the Preamble.

5. Are there any questions asked about recent Supreme Court judgments?

Generally, no. RRB NTPC mostly focuses on static, fixed rules of the constitution. Deep legal judgments are asked in law exams, not in Railway exams.
