Indian Bank, a premier Public Sector Bank headquartered in Chennai, has released a comprehensive recruitment notification for Specialist Officers (SO) across various scales for the year 2026. This recruitment drive seeks experienced professionals for critical roles in Information Technology, Credit, Finance, Risk Management, and more.

1. Important Dates

Aspirants must keep track of the following timeline for the online application process:

  • Last Date to Apply & Pay Fees: April 28, 2026
  • Cut-off Date for Eligibility (Age/Qualification/Experience): April 1, 2026

3. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet specific requirements regarding age, education, and professional experience as of April 1, 2026.

  • Nationality: A candidate must be a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee settled in India before 1962.
  • Educational Qualification & Experience:
    • IT Managers (Scale II): 4-year Engineering degree or PG in CS/IT/Electronics with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification IT experience. Mandatory certifications (e.g., CCNA for Network, OCP for DBA) are required for several roles.
    • Credit/Finance Managers (Scale II): Graduation plus a 2-year full-time MBA (Finance) or MMS (Finance) with at least 2 years of relevant experience in credit processing.
    • Chartered Accountants (Scale II): Must be a member of ICAI with 1 year of post-qualification experience in Accounts, Finance, or Taxation.
  • Age Limits:
    • Scale I: Generally 22–32 years.
    • Scale II (Manager): Generally 23–33 or 24–34 years depending on the post.
    • Scale III (Senior Manager): Generally 25–35 or 26–36 years.

4. Salary and Benefits

Selected officers will be eligible for competitive pay scales and various bank perquisites:

  • Scale I: ₹48,480 — ₹85,920
  • Scale II: ₹64,820 — ₹93,960
  • Scale III: ₹85,920 — ₹105,280

Additional Perks: Officers receive Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or leased accommodation, Leave Fare Concession (LFC), medical aid, and retirement benefits as per industry standards.

5. Selection Process

The selection procedure typically involves two major stages:

  1. Online Written Test: Covering professional knowledge relevant to the post and general aptitude.
  2. Interview: Candidates qualifying for the written test will be called for a personal interview.

For Scale II, III, and IV posts, selected candidates will serve a probation period of 1 year.

6. Application Fees

Candidates must pay the fee online between April 8 and April 28, 2026.

  • SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: Intimation charges only.
  • All Others: Application fee plus intimation charges.

  3. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  4. Fill in the application details, upload the required documents (photo, signature, thumb impression, and hand-written declaration), and pay the fee.
  5. Save and print the system-generated application form for future reference.

Important Note: A candidate can apply for only one post; multiple applications will result in only the latest valid one being considered.
