Focus on Building Strong Basics

After knowing the syllabus, exam pattern, and creating a study plan now it is important to know the important topics on which can focus more and increase your chances of scoring good marks in the exam. Below we have provided the most important topics that you should focus.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Begin with basic topics such as number systems, percentages, averages, and simple equations. Gradually move to more complex topics like Data Interpretation, Time & Work, and Profit & Loss.

  • English Language: Improve vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar, and sentence correction. Practice reading newspapers and books to enhance your reading skills.

Take Regular Mock Tests

Solving mock tests is very important because it helps you know your preparedness and real exam environment. Mock tests make you more conversant with the exam format and also increase your speed and accuracy in solving the questions. After each mock test try to assess what areas you need to improve in based on the mistakes you made. As you approach the exam date, try to solve 2-3 mock tests at least when preparing for the examination.

Work on Speed and Accuracy

You will get a total of 60 minutes to complete the exam which is not that much sufficient. So, in this case, you can only do one thing is that you can increase your speed and accuracy. Trained yourself to arrive at solutions to questions as quickly as possible without a decrease in the accuracy of your answers. In the Preliminary exam, more particularly, time is very limited and the candidate would have to try and answer as many questions as he can. Repeatedly solving speed-based exercises, working on shortcuts and mental computation can enhance the performance very much.

Stay Updated with Current Affairs

General Awareness is a section that you need to prepare for the main examination and for the Interview session. Get in touch with as many national and international events, economic policies, banks, financial awareness, and other daily matters as possible. Spend at least 30 minutes each day to read newspapers or use any other resources to update yourself.

Improve Descriptive Writing Skills

In the Mains exam, there is a section where you will be supposed to write an essay or a letter in the descriptive section. Try to write essays on various topics, make your writing more interesting, and develop your concern at the grammatical level of your essays. Newspapers and books should be read in order to build ideas and enhance writing skills.

Revise Regularly

Revision is always important in order to get as many facts right as possible and it will help you to remember the concepts. Revise the concepts every day, solve sample papers, and mock tests. It will help you to refine your knowledge and you will be able to increase your confidence for the exam.

Stay Positive and Motivated
