How to Prepare for IBPS PO Mains Exam in 1 Month
The IBPS PO Mains exam will be held on 12th October 2025, and now only one month is left. If you know you will clear the prelims, this is the right time to focus on Mains. Even though the results are not declared yet, waiting for them may waste your valuable preparation days. So, start early and get ahead. This year, IBPS has also made a few changes in the exam pattern, which makes it even more important to plan smartly. In this blog, we will share a 1-month preparation strategy for IBPS PO Mains.

In the table given below, we have given the list of important topics to cover for the mains examination in one month. The list is made after analysing the PYQs. Although the exam pattern has changed but the syllabus remains the same. For the general awareness section, candidates are advised to rigorously follow the current affairs of the last six months and revise them on a daily basis.

If you’re preparing for the mains exam, this means you already have a solid basic knowledge of quants, reasoning and the English section, but to check how much you have to prepare for the advanced level questions, you have to solve previous year papers of IBPS PO Mains exam. Another important benefit of solving PYQs is that you get an idea of the overall examination, the level of difficulty with which questions are asked.
We have mentioned a complete list of important topics. Use that list and complete those topics first, as they are asked repeatedly in the exam. Target to practice at least 50+ questions from each topic because if you’ve noticed the changes in exam pattern, in the reasoning section, the number of questions has decreased along with the time duration, but the maximum marks remain the same. This is an indication that now more questions will be asked in puzzle sets. These 3 variables are going to be incorporated with some more twists and turns, so prepare accordingly.
As only one month is left, prepare for GA through some compiled notes or by using weekly and monthly current affairs magazines. Note down important information in the form of abbreviations, such as ADB: Asian Development Bank. You can create it for yourself and revise it at regular intervals. Focus on current affairs, such as changes in GST, finance-related issues, economy economy-related current affairs are considered to be the most important, along with sports and technology advancements.
Practice descriptive writing regularly, suppose one day practice essay writing and the other day practice comprehension using your laptop or computer, as you need a good typing speed. We suggest you take full-length mocks on every alternate day, as one mock test will consume almost 3 hours, and after that, you need to analyse the mocks as well. For this reason, practising full-length mocks on alternate days is advised. However, you should take sectional tests daily. But remember to analyse each and every test in detail.
