Experience Required for IBPS RRB Scale 2 and 3

Professional experience is a mandatory eligibility condition for both Scale 2 and Scale 3 posts.

  • Scale 2 (General Banking Officer): At least 2 years as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
  • Scale 2 (Specialist Officer): Relevant field experience such as 1-2 years, depending on specialisation (IT, CA, Law, Treasury, Agriculture, etc.).
  • Scale 3 (Senior Manager): At least 5 years as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Work experience makes sure that candidates already have the practical banking knowledge, leadership ability, and hands-on skills needed to manage important responsibilities in Regional Rural Banks as managers and senior managers.

IBPS RRB Scale 2 Eligibility Criteria

The Officer Scale 2 post is a middle management position. Candidates must fulfil the age, educational, and experience requirements specified by IBPS to be eligible for Scale 2 posts. Meeting these criteria ensures they are prepared for managerial responsibilities in the Regional Rural Bank. It is further divided into General Banking Officers (GBOs) and Specialist Officers (SOs).

Educational Qualification

  • General Banking Officer (GBO): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum 50% marks. Preference for candidates with degrees in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, etc.
  • Specialist Officers (SO): Educational qualifications vary (e.g., IT, CA, Law, Treasury, Agriculture).

Experience Required

  • GBO: Minimum 2 years as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
  • Specialist Cadre:
    • IT Officer: 1 year in the relevant field.
    • Chartered Accountant: 1 year as a CA.
    • Law Officer: 2 years as an advocate or Law Officer in a Bank/Financial Institution.
    • Treasury Manager: 1 year in treasury.
    • Agricultural Officer: 2 years in the agriculture-related sector.

Age Limit

  • 21 to 32 years (Relaxation applicable as per government rules).

IBPS RRB Scale 3 Eligibility Criteria

The Officer Scale 3 post is a Senior Managerial role that requires significant experience. Aspirants must meet the prescribed age, educational qualifications, and work experience to be eligible for Scale 3 posts.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks. Preference for candidates with degrees in Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Banking, etc.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Age Limit

  • 21 to 40 years (Relaxation as per rules).
