RRB PO Preparation Tips to be followed during the Revision Days

As the RRB PO Prelims 2025 exam approaches, the last 10 days are crucial to revise all scoring topics systematically. Instead of starting something new, this is the time to strengthen your accuracy, speed, and confidence in the most repetitive and high-weightage areas. The plan below is designed to help you revise smartly, focusing only on the topics that are expected to fetch maximum marks in the prelims exam.

Focus on Scoring Topics First

Your revision should begin with the topics that carry the highest weightage and have appeared consistently in previous years’ exams. In Quantitative Aptitude, these include Simplification, Approximation, Number Series, Quadratic Equations, and Data Interpretation (DI). For Reasoning Ability, Puzzles, Seating Arrangements, Inequality, Coding-Decoding, and Syllogism are some of the important topics.

These areas together contribute around 70% of the total paper, and mastering them ensures a strong foundation. Don’t just practise; revise shortcuts, note recurring patterns, and attempt topic-wise mini quizzes to test accuracy and speed, as this exam demands speed along with 90% accuracy.

Daily Practice of Puzzles and DI

Puzzles and Data Interpretation are the make-or-break topics of the RRB PO Prelims exam. Devote at least one hour daily to these two sections. Start with moderate-level sets and gradually move towards tricky ones. Focus on the method of arrangement, variable linking, and approximation skills for speed-based DI sets. Keep track of the types of puzzles, linear, circular, floor-based, and box arrangement and try to revise one variety each day. For DI, revise tabular, bar graph, and caselet sets, as they are most frequently asked.

Strengthen the Short Topics to gain marks

The small topics like Direction & Distance, Blood Relation, Inequality, and Syllogism are quick to revise, but can boost your score significantly. Revise 2–3 of these every alternate day. Since they don’t require lengthy calculations, they help you build accuracy and confidence early in the exam. Prepare short formula sheets for Speed-Time-Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, and Percentage-based Arithmetic problems. Spend the first 20 minutes daily revising these basics, as these will save valuable seconds during the actual exam.

Revise Smartly, Not Randomly

By this stage, every question you practise should serve a purpose, either strengthening a weak area or improving speed. Random practice won’t help, as hardly 10 days are left, and in such an important time, it is essential to practice those questions that are important and can add value to your overall preparation.

Attempt Full-Length Mocks and Analyse them properly

Mock tests are not just for practice; they are for performance analysis. Take at least 3-4 full-length mocks during these 10 days. After every mock, spend time identifying the questions you got wrong or took too long to solve. Maintain a small notebook of your errors and note what went wrong, whether you were able to recognise the concept behind the questions. Have you committed any silly calculation mistakes, or do you struggle with time management? Take note of every minute detail and go through them before you take the next test. One more important thing to be kept in mind is that the goal is not to attempt all 80 questions, but to attempt 70+ with 95% accuracy.

Conclusion

This 10-day RRB PO Prelims revision plan is structured to help you utilise your time effectively by focusing only on high-scoring topics. Remember, consistency matters more than the number of hours you study. Practise daily, analyse regularly, and approach every mock test as your final exam.

FAQs

How should I divide subjects during the 10-day RRB PO revision plan?

Focus on Quant and Reasoning equally in the first five days, then shift to mock-based revision and weak-area improvement during the next five days. Reserve the final two days for full-length practice tests and formula/concept recap.

Is it necessary to attempt full mocks daily during revision?

Yes, at least one sectional or full-length mock every day helps you build speed, improve accuracy, and get used to the real exam environment. Analyse mistakes right after each test.

How can I revise Quant effectively in a limited time?

Use a formula sheet and short notes to revise all key concepts quickly. Focus more on Simplification, DI, Arithmetic, and Quadratic questions — the high-weightage topics in RRB PO.

What should be the strategy for Reasoning revision?

Practice 2–3 puzzles daily, revise Inequality, Syllogism, Blood Relation, and Direction, and solve previous year sets to enhance accuracy and pattern familiarity.
