About OICL

The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd was incorporated at Bombay on 12th September 1947. The Company was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Oriental Government Security Life Assurance Company Ltd and was formed to carry out General Insurance business. The Company was a subsidiary of Life Insurance Corporation of India from 1956 to 1973 ( till the General Insurance Business was nationalized in the country). In 2003 all shares of our company held by the General Insurance Corporation of India have been transferred to Central Government.

OICL AO (2017) Pattern

Selection Procedure -

Phase I - Preliminary Examination consisting of online objective tests of 1 hour duration for 100 marks. Adequate number of candidates depending upon the number of posts would be shortlisted after the Phase - I preliminary examination for further selection process. The marks obtained in the Phase - I is only for shortlisting the candidates for the next step and shall not be considered for final selection.

Phase II - Mains Examination consisting of online objective and descriptive tests of 2 hours duration for 230 marks. Adequate number of candidates under various categories would be shortlisted for further process on the basis of their performance in Mains Examination

Mains Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 250 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 2 hours duration consisting of 5 Sections as follows:

Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 Minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Essay, Precis and Comprehension). The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through on line mode. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section of objective test separately for short listing for the Descriptive Test evaluation/Interview i.e. Descriptive answer script would be evaluated only in respect of those candidates who qualify the objective test. There will also be a separate cut-off marks for the Descriptive Test.

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum total score (to be decided by the NICL according to number of vacancies) in the objective test(Main Examination) and qualify in the descriptive test for short listing for the Interview. A candidate shall be required to qualify in the descriptive test, but the marks in the descriptive test will not be counted towards short listing for interview or final selection.

Q. I have bought a test series package consisting of 10 tests, but after successful payment I can see only 4 or 5 or x tests of that test series?

Please don’t worry you would get all the tests before the scheduled date of examination. Mock tests are uploaded on an ongoing basis. A tentative monthly schedule of mock tests to be uploaded in a given month is on the homepage of the website.

Q. I have completed a mock test. When will I get my score?

On submission of your mock test, your score and All-India rank would be immediately generated. The All India ranking is dynamic in nature and it would change as more number of users attempt that mock test.

Q. A mock test was made live on November 10, 2017. Am I supposed to attempt that test on that date itself
No, you can attempt or view analysis/solution of that test on any date or time as per your convenience before the validity date of a particular test expires. 

Q. What is the validity of the Test Package?

The test package is valid till February 28, 2018.

 Q. In what all languages Mock tests are available?

Currently, our mock tests are available in English only.

Q. How many times can I attempt a particular Mock test?

You can attempt a particular mock test only once. However, you can review and analyse your performance as many times as you want.
