SBI Clerk Prelims is now over and you must be geared towards the preparation of the Mains exam. Make full use of this time. Mains is Different from Prelims<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although the result of SBI Clerk Prelims is not declared yet, you should not wait for it and continue with your preparation for Mains. Since you have already appeared for and experienced the Prelims exam, it is very important that you understand the difference between the Prelims & Mains exam and prepare accordingly. It\u2019s an exam which is supposed to eliminate non-serious aspirants<\/strong>. This is the reason why all the aspirants who clear the cut-offs are invited for Mains.<\/td>Mains exam is supposed to select the best aspirants. In accordance with the number of vacancies, aspirants are selected.<\/td><\/tr>
Prelims marks are not considered<\/strong> in final merit listing.<\/td>Mains marks are considered<\/strong> for final merit listing.<\/td><\/tr>
The questions in Prelims are less difficult and are mostly speed-based<\/strong>.<\/td>When compared with Prelims, the questions in Mains are difficult<\/strong> and they check the conceptual clarity<\/strong> of the aspirants.<\/td><\/tr>
Prelims has only 3 sections<\/strong>: English, Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude.<\/td>Mains has 4 sections<\/strong>: General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and General\/Financial Awareness<\/td><\/tr>
Total time allowed for Prelims is 60 minutes<\/strong>.<\/td>In Mains exam, you are given 160 minutes<\/strong> for the whole exam.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The first and foremost thing of SBI Clerk Mains exam preparation is knowing the exam pattern in detail. You must know how many questions are there in each of the section and what will be their maximum marks. Have a look at the detailed exam pattern below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Negative marking of 0.25 mark per incorrectly answered question will be there.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Sectional timing is there in the Mains exam. You can\u2019t switch between different sections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Overall cut-offs are there but there isn\u2019t any sectional cut-off in place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
