Instead of 1%, think 1\/100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example: 5% of 200 = (5\/100) \u00d7 200 = 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trick 2: Use the multiplier method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 20% increase gives multiplying by 1.20<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 30% decrease gives multiplying by 0.7<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trick 3: Shortcut for continuous changes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increase 10% then decrease 10%<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If cost is Rs. 80 and profit is 25%, then MP = 80 \u00d7 1.25 = Rs. 100<\/p>\n\n\n\n
