You would be surprised to know that SBI has over 200 branches in 40 foreign countries. Being the largest lender of India SBI is recognized all over the world, especially as a public sector bank. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is a little peek into the former chairman of SBI, Arundhati Bhattacharcya. She went to America in 1996 as the vice president of a branch. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1977 <\/td>She joined as the SBI PO in 1977 at the Alipore branch in West Bengal <\/td><\/tr>
1983-1992 <\/td>Transferred to Kharagpur, leaves as the assistant general manager after 9 years <\/td><\/tr>
1996-2000 <\/td>She shifts to the United States as the vice-president, branch co-ordination <\/td><\/tr>
2000 <\/td>Makes a return back to India as a DGM for foreign department at the Kolkata branch <\/td><\/tr>
2007 <\/td>Shifts to Mumbai as General Manager and is promoted as Chief General Manager within 30 days <\/td><\/tr>
2009 <\/td>Makes a shift for Bengaluru, as the head of SBI Karnataka <\/td><\/tr>
2011 <\/td>Gets promoted as Deputy Managing Director. Returns to Mumbai as the head of human resources and is later made the head of capital markets. Then acted as a Chief Financial Officer for three months before she finally gets appointed as the Chairperson of SBI. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
