The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) is a government body that conducts various recruitment exams for group C posts in the state. UPSSSC is conducting Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) today, which is a screening test for candidates who want to apply for other UPSSSC exams. The UPSSSC PET exam is a common eligibility test for candidates who want to appear for various UPSSSC exams such as Lower Subordinate Services, Junior Assistant, Stenographer, Forest Guard, etc. The PET exam was introduced in 2023 to replace the previous system of multiple preliminary exams for different posts. The PET exam aims to reduce the burden on candidates and the commission by conducting a single exam for all posts.
The UPSSSC PET exam is an offline objective type test of 2 hours duration. The exam consists of 100 questions of 1 mark each, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The exam covers various topics such as General Hindi, General Knowledge, General Science, Mathematics, Reasoning, etc. The minimum qualifying marks for the PET exam are 40% for general category candidates and 30% for reserved category candidates.
