Except for Main exams like IBPS, SBI and, many other exams vacancies also exists.
In this article we are going to discuss about 3 major government exams thereby understanding number of vacancies, work profile etc.
IBPS SO
To begin with, first is IBPS SO whose form filling date has begun from 1 November 2022. So let us understand “What is SO?”, banks other than SBI have specialist officers in IT, HR, Marketing, Law officer, AFO, so anyone interested in SO position may fill the form for this particular examination and the process is similar to IBPS PO which follows Prelims, Mains and interview.
- Important Dates– The form Filing date is from 1 November- 21 November 2022. Prelims Exam will be conducted on 24/31 December, Mains exam will be on 29 January and Interview will be conducted in Feb/March. Result will be out on 1st April.
- Number of Vacancies– Although the number of vacancies is less this year especially in IT. There are 700 vacancies, but many banks haven’t updated it. There are 44 vacancies in IT, 516 in AFO, 100 in Marketing, 700 in total.
- Eligibility– If you have done Btech in CS, IT, ECE, EEE or you have done PG then only you can apply in IT. BSc and BCA people are not eligible for IT, similarly for AFO, you must have completed graduation in Agriculture. Age Limit for appearing for IBPS SO is 20-30 years.
- Exam Pattern- The exam cantains English, Reasoning, GA which is of 25, 50 and 50 marks respectively.
NHB
The next exam post IBPS SO is NHB. One should be well aware of the form filling details and vacancies for the same.
- Important Dates– The form filing dates are from 29 November- 18 October 2022. Unlike IBPS SO, it conducts only one exam followed an interview.
- Vacancies– Vacancies are somewhere similar, and some vacancies are for scale 1. Just like ECGC PO, vacancies are just 16.
- Eligibility Criteria– Age limit is from 21- 30 years as on 1st October and relaxation based on category, and in graduation the eligibility criteria is 60%, exactly like RBI Grade B, 55% for SC, ST.
- Exam Pattern- Exam pattern is quite similar to PO Mains which includes English, Reasoning, GK and Quant, 155 questions of 200 marks and the time duration for the same is 2 hours.
Gross salary is around 60k. In hand salary is approximately 50-52k.

- Most of us have exams of SBI, IBPS, etc and we tend to focus on those exams first. If you are getting good marks in those exams then you can fill it, but since general vacancies are only 11 so you might skip it. But you can take a chance if you are getting good marks in mocks.
- There is no public dealing, so it’s better than other jobs, generally people who prepare for RBI NABARD takes the exam, take up this exam as well sice the syllabus and pattern are almost the same.
SBI CBO
- Number of Vacancies– This exam is for those who have some experience in Scheduled commercial banks or in RRB. In total there are 1400 vacancies.
- Important Dates– SBI CBO Prelims is on 4th December, 2022. Interview will be in January.
- Eligibility Criteria– Education requirements for the same is graduation. The age limit should be 21-30 years as on 30 September. One should have 2 years of experience in banking. 10, 12th certificate is mandatory to check your local language.
- Exam Pattern- Just like NHB only exam is conducted followed by interview. So English, Banking, GA and computer is there, then one descriptive paper is there for 50 marks just like SBI PO.
