Eligibility for the SSC Steno 2023

The eligibility for the SSC Stenographer Exam 2023 is as follows:

Nationality:

The candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, Bhutan or a migrant from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit as (1st August 2023)

Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2023, i.e., candidates born not before 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.

Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2023, i.e., Candidates born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.

There’s age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, Defence personnel and Central Government Civilian Employees.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have passed the 10th standard or equivalent from the recognized board.

Application Fee

• The application fee for the exam is INR 100/-.
• The fee can be paid only through online payment modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit or Debit card.

How to Apply?

The application can only be submitted online. Follow the direction to apply:

• Visit http://ssc.nicin
• Click on the ‘Login’ tab and select ‘New Registration’
• Enter the information in the respective fields.
• You will get the credentials through email.
• Open your email id and collect the credentials. Login again.
• Fill out the application form and click submit.
• Download the application form.

Scheme of the Examination

There will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 Marks and a Skill Test in Stenography.
