The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Junior Engineer (JE) examination every year to recruit eligible candidates for various posts of civil, mechanical, electrical and quantity surveying and contract engineering in various departments and organizations under the Government of India. The SSC JE vacancies are announced by the commission after the completion of the paper-I exam. The number of vacancies may vary depending on the availability of posts and the preferences of the candidates. The SSC JE vacancies are divided into two groups: Group A and Group B. Group A consists of posts in Central Water Commission (CWC) and Central Public Works Department (CPWD), while Group B consists of posts in Border Roads Organization (BRO), Military Engineering Services (MES), Farakka Barrage Project, National Technical Research Organization (NTRO) and other ministries or departments. The candidates who qualify the paper-I and paper-II exams are allotted to the posts based on their merit, preference and eligibility criteria. The SSC JE vacancies are subject to reservation for various categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, etc. as per the government norms.
