As per existing instruction of the Commission for candidates, no electronic device is allowed in the examination hall. The Commission, taking cognizance of the inconveniences faced by the hearing impaired candidates at the examination venues and keeping in view the lack of facility and time at the venue to undertake forensic testing of electronic devices, has decided to allow the hearing-impaired candidates to use their hearing-aids till completion of the registration process at examination venues.
This facility will be extended to only those candidates who fall under category of Hearing Impaired on production of such a certificate issued by the competent authority or as indicated in their Admission Certificates of the examination.
After completion of the registration process, such a candidate will be required to remove/put off his/ her hearing aid since as per the existing norms, instructions to the candidate relevant to the examination are made available on the computer screen before commencement of the examination. The candidates will be allowed to use the hearing aid only if any announcement is made in the examination hall or he/she has any clarification to ask. Onus of keeping the device switched off at all time during the exam will rest with the candidate and misuse, if any, will lead to immediate action and debarment.
