Candidates belonging to Nepal or Bhutan must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India wherever required. Candidates requiring such a certificate may be admitted to the examination, but the appointment will be offered only after the certificate is issued.

Candidates should carefully attempt questions because negative marking applies in both papers:
Questions are objective multiple-choice type. Parts I, II and III are set in Hindi and English.
If the Computer Based Examination is conducted in multiple shifts, SSC will normalise the marks using the prescribed procedure.

There is no minimum chest measurement for female candidates.
The PST/PET does not carry marks and is of a qualifying/elimination nature. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET but must satisfy the prescribed physical standards and pass the written and medical tests.

Candidates declared medically unfit during DME may undergo a Review Medical Examination, whose decision will be final as prescribed by the notification.
