SSC CHSL 2025 Tier 1 exam is scheduled to begin on November 12th, 2025, and will be conducted in three daily shifts to manage the large volume of candidates. The exam duration is 60 minutes per shift. SSC CHSL shift timings for Tier 1 exam are: Shift 1 (9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, reporting at 7:30 AM), Shift 2 (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, reporting at 11:30 AM), and Shift 3 (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, reporting at 3:30 PM). Candidates must check their specific shift time on their admit card and adhere strictly to the reporting time.

The SSC CHSL 2025 exam brings a few notable updates that aspirants must be aware of before appearing for Tier 1. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s changed this year:

Number of Shifts

  • Last Year Total Shifts: Last year, SSC CHSL was conducted in 4 shifts, but now it is conducted in 3 shifts.
  • Shift timings of this year:
    • Shift 1: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM (Reporting: 7:30 AM)
    • Shift 2: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Reporting: 11:30 AM)
    • Shift 3: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Reporting: 3:30 PM)

Exam Pattern

  • The Tier 1 exam pattern remains the same as last year:
    • Objective-type questions
    • 60-minute duration
    • Sections: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language
  • No changes have been announced in the marking scheme or number of questions.

Reporting Instructions

  • SSC has emphasized strict adherence to reporting times. Late entry will not be permitted under any circumstances.
  • Candidates must carry:
    • Printed admit card
    • Valid photo ID proof
  • New advisory for 2025:
    • Avoid wearing clothes with metallic elements (e.g., big buttons, brooches)
    • Electronic gadgets like smartwatches, calculators, and mobile phones are strictly prohibited
    • Bring your own stationery items (pens, pencils)

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Admit Card: Carry a printed copy of your admit card to the exam centre.
  • Prohibited Items: Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, calculators, and smartwatches, are not allowed in the exam hall.

  • Stationery: Carry your own stationery items like pens and pencils.

  • Don’t give up practising. Remember: SSC CHSL is a speed-based exam. Practice as much as you can and try improving your speed.

  • Don’t learn any new topic now; it will only confuse you.
  • Take proper rest on the day before the exam so that you can give the exam in a fresh mood.
  • Whatever happens in the exam, don’t lose your self-confidence and stay focused on what questions you can still answer correctly.
