2. Active & Passive Voice (Voice Conversion)

Active Voice is when the subject of the sentence performs the action.
Structure: Subject + Verb + Object

Passive Voice is when the subject of the sentence receives the action.
Structure: Object + form of “to be” + Past Participle + by + Subject

• Master the Tense Shift: The most important thing to test is the change in the verb form and auxiliary verb. If the active is in Simple Past, the passive must use was/were + V3. Practice this until it’s instant.
• Subject and Object Must Swap: Every question requires the subject and object to trade places. In your tests, always look for this mandatory switch first—it will help you immediately eliminate incorrect options.

3. Direct & Indirect Speech (Narration)

Just like Voice, Narration is completely dependent on rules. You will see 2-3 questions from this topic, and they are quick to solve if you have done good practice.

• Focus on the Triple Tense Shift: When converting from Direct to Indirect, you have a fixed set of tense changes (e.g., Simple Present becomes Simple Past). Test yourself heavily on these standard changes.

These questions are your Grammar Check. They both test the exact same set of rules, just in different formats. Getting better at one naturally improves the other.
