SEBI Grade A Study Plan 2025, Check Phase 1 and Phase 2 Detailed 2 Month Plan
SEBI Grade A Phase 1 will be conducted on 10th January 2025, which means candidates have approximately two months to prepare for both Paper 1 (Quant, Test of Reasoning, English and GA) and Paper 2 (Commerce, Management, Finance, Economics, Costing, Companies Act). As per previous years’ trends, Phase 2 is usually scheduled within a month of Phase 1, leaving you with very little time if you plan to start preparing for Phase 2 separately.
Therefore, it is highly recommended to prepare for Phase 1 and Phase 2 simultaneously. Focusing only on Phase 1 and leaving Phase 2 for later can create unnecessary pressure, as Phase 2 is more advanced, theory-intensive, and requires practice in both numerical and descriptive sections.
With this in mind, we have designed a two-month preparation strategy that allows you to efficiently balance the syllabus for both phases. This plan integrates conceptual understanding, numerical practice, and English descriptive writing, along with mock tests at regular intervals to help you track progress, identify weak areas, and build confidence. In this article, we are providing you with the SEBI Grade A Study Plan 2025 for both Phase 1 and Phase 2. Candidates can check the detailed strategy in the article below.
Note: This study plan is designed specifically for General Stream candidates. It focuses on topics relevant to the General stream and is structured to help you efficiently cover both Phase 1 and Phase 2.
In Stage 1, Paper 1 is the same for all streams and tests candidates on the English language, general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, and Test of Reasoning. For Paper 1, you don’t need any special preparation. 1-2 hours of mock tests and topic-wise practice daily is sufficient to stay on track.
It’s crucial to start with theory and make concise notes. Prepare your notes in such a way that during the exam, you can revise everything in just 2-3 days. A thorough understanding of theory will make revision faster and more efficient, and you’ll feel confident in the exam.
You should also pay special attention to numerical topics, as these lay the foundation for Stage 2. If you practice numerical topics thoroughly in Stage 1, solving numerical problems in Stage 2 will be much easier. So, while strengthening your theory, don’t neglect daily practice of calculations and problem-solving.

Preparing for SEBI Grade A can feel overwhelming at first, but with the right strategy and consistency, you can crack both Phase 1 and Phase 2 confidently. The key is not just hard work, but smart and structured preparation that balances concept clarity, revision, and practice. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you stay on track and make your preparation effective.
The first step toward success is understanding the exam structure clearly.
SEBI Grade A consists of Phase 1 (Screening) and Phase 2 (Mains)—both equally important.
Phase 1 includes Paper 1 (General Aptitude) and Paper 2 (Subject-specific).
Phase 2 tests your conceptual depth and writing ability through Paper 1 (English Descriptive) and Paper 2 (Professional Knowledge).
Before you start, go through the detailed syllabus and mark all topics — this helps in identifying what to prioritize and how much time each section needs.
Before jumping into books and mock tests, analyze previous year question papers to understand the pattern, difficulty level, and weightage of topics.
This simple exercise helps you:
You’ll save time and study efficiently when you know what’s important and what’s not.
Avoid getting lost in too many books or PDFs. Instead, focus on limited but high-quality resources.
Choose:
Smart selection of study material will make your preparation more targeted and productive.
While studying, always prepare concise notes for both phases.
A plan without structure is just a wish. Prepare a realistic and achievable daily schedule.
Stick to your schedule consistently even short, regular study sessions are more effective than long, irregular ones.
Revision is the key to retention. No matter how well you’ve studied a topic, without revision, you might forget it in the exam.
Make a habit of revising:
This cycle ensures everything stays fresh in your memory.
Mock tests are the real mirror of your preparation.
Attempt at least 2–3 full-length mocks every week for Phase 1 and 1 mock test weekly for Phase 2 (including English descriptive writing).
Mocks help you:
After every test, review your mistakes; don’t just check scores; understand why you lost marks and work on those topics again.
Even if you know everything, poor time management can cost you marks.
Practice solving questions with a timer.
After every mock, spend at least 30–40 minutes analyzing:
Maintain a small notebook for “Mock Mistakes” revise it weekly to ensure you don’t repeat them again.
Remember, analysis is where real improvement happens.
In the last 20 days before the SEBI Grade A Exam, your complete focus should shift towards mock tests and revision only.
Don’t start any new topic at this stage — it will only create confusion and reduce your confidence.
Instead, spend this time on:
These final 20 days are not for learning new things, but for strengthening what you already know. Focus on accuracy, speed, and smart question selection. Remember, “Practice and revision, not new learning,” is the golden rule before the exam.
