Eligibility for SEBI Grade A Examination

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification of the candidates depends on the stream they are applying for. 

• For the General stream, the candidates should have a Master’s degree in any discipline or Bachelor’s degree in Law/Engineering, or CA/CFA/CS/Cost Accountant.
• For the Legal stream, the candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• For the Information Technology stream, the candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Electronics and Communication/Information Technology/Computer Science) or a Master’s degree in Computer Application or Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification in Computers/Information Technology.

Age Limit

The age limit for the post is 30 years as on a specified date. There is a relaxation of the age limit for candidates belonging to different categories, such as SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10-15 years), Ex-Servicemen (5 years), etc.

Nationality

The candidate must be a citizen of India or a Subject of Bhutan or Nepal.

SEBI Grade A Officer Exam Pattern

SEBI Grade A Officer Exam is conducted in two phases namely Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. Phase I consists of objective type questions while Phase II consists of both objective and descriptive type questions.

Phase I: Objective Questions

There is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.

Phase II: Objective + Descriptive Questions

There is a negative marking for each wrong answer in phase II

Phase III : The Interview

Candidates who successfully clear the Phase II exam will be eligible for the internview.

Cut off for the SEBI Grade A Officer Exam 2023

Phase 1 online examination (Objective):

• Paper 1: 30% sectional cut-off and 40% overall cut off

• Paper 2: 40% sectional cut-off and 50% overall cut off

Phase 2 online examination (Objective + Descriptive):

• Paper 1: 30% sectional cut-off and 50% overall cut off

• Paper 2: 40% sectional cut-off and 50% overall cut off

Phase 3 interview: 15% weightage in the final selection

Salary Structure of SEBI Grade A Examination

The initial pay scale for SEBI Grade A Officer was revised from Rs, 28,150/- to Rs. 44,500/.
The salary at the time of joining is Rs. 19,900 per month. The candidates who are selected for the SEBI Grade A officer get a handsome salary along with attractive perks. The salary structure ranges from Rs. 1,07,000 without accommodation and Rs. 73,000 with accommodation.
