SBI Clerk 2020 Prelims Reasoning Tips

SBI Clerk Prelims Reasoning Section – Few General Tips

  • Be very attentive while reading any question, as it is very important to first understand the requirement of the question. The moment you lose focus there, you will automatically start losing time.
  • The moment you realize that you do not understand the question, simply move to the next question and so on and so forth. In fact, it would be a good idea to time each question and follow a hard stop in case you are not able to crack it. You can always come back to it later if you have time.
  • Make sure you prepare these topics well including blood relation, directions, syllogisms, statement assumption and conclusion, as these can be quickly solved with high accuracy. In fact, you may even prioritize solving these questions so as to ensure that you score well in Reasoning Ability section.
  • You can leave the questions on puzzle for the end, since, they are at times slightly tricky. However, in case you are confident that you will able to answer them in one shot with complete accuracy then simply go ahead and answer it.
  • Data Sufficiency questions can also be tricky but can be answered if you understand the statement well. The most important thing that is to be kept in mind while solving the data sufficiency questions are never assume any data on your own. The best way to tackle questions on this topic is by simply asking yourself whether the question can be solved on the basis of the given information in the statements. The good part about Data Sufficiency question is that is does not involve much calculation and so if you find yourself doing that then there would definitely be something you may have missed out while reading the question.
  • Finally, keep in mind that you need to solve 35 questions in 20 minutes, hence it is important to quickly look out for the easier questions and solve them in the least possible time.
