The National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has released the official notification for the Administrative Officer (AO) roles. There are 266 vacancies, comprising 96 Specialist Officer posts and 170 Generalist Officer posts. The online application begins from 12th June 2025 and remains open till 3rd July 2025. The date of the online examination for Phase 1 (Prelims) is 20th July 2025, and Phase 2 (Mains) is 31st August 2025. The selection process consists of a Prelims exam, Mains exam, Personal Interview, Document Verification, and a Medical Fitness Test. NICL AO Mains Exam Pattern for Generalist Officer:

The NICL AO Mains exam marks are counted in the final results. The Mains Exam consists of both Objective and Descriptive tests. There is a sectional cut-off and negative marking of 1/4th marks allotted to the question. The medium of the exam is English and Hindi both except for the English Language section. For Objective Test: The objective test in the mains exam consists of five sections, each of 50 marks, and the exam is a total of 250 marks.

1. English Language Strategy

The NICL AO Mains exam Objective Test includes five subjects, and there is a Descriptive Test as well. The subjects in the mains exam include English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge.

1. Reasoning Ability Strategy for Mains

Important Topics: Advanced Puzzles, Input-Output, Logical Reasoning (Statement-Conclusion, Course of Action, Cause-Effect), Coding-Decoding, Blood Relation (Complex & Coded), Direction Sense, Inequality, Syllogism, Critical Reasoning, Ranking and Order, and Data Sufficiency.

Strategy: First, revise the basic concepts learned earlier, don’t wait for the prelims exam result, and start preparing for the mains exam. Focus on the important topics.
