Job Profile of NABARD Grade A (Assistant Manager)
1. Lowest Post in the NABARD hierarchy
The Grade-A assistant Manager’s post is the lowest post in the hierarchy of all managerial posts. The career progression will be as follows: Assistant Manager to Manager to Assistant General manager to
Deputy General Manager to General Manager to Chief General Manager to Executive Director to Director.
2. Probation period
The probation period for a Grade-A officer is of 2 years. And it can be further extended to a maximum of 1 year at the discretion of the bank.
3. No specific work profiles
The Grade-A officer is required and expected to be ready to do a lot of multitasking, as there is no specified work profile. Your duties, as a manager, can include alignment with various departments and are expected to handle all kinds of functions of the organization.
4. Major job
The major work of a Grade-A officer is of clerical nature, which includes noting, and routine returns or reports submission, and responding to various official emails, and related works. consuming majority of their office hours. He has to carry out any official work assigned by the Chief General Manager of RO. The Grade-A officer also helps to assist in duties related to refinancing the funds to the rural banks and act as one of the financial abettors for the Rural and Agricultural sectors.

5. Work on various government policies
He has to work on various policies and programmes mandated by Central/State Governments related to Agriculture and Rural Development.
6. Work for agricultural and rural development activities
The Grade-A officers assist the senior managers in coordinating all agricultural and rural development activities with the objective of aligning them with all the planned development activities in the rural sector.
7. Job Posting
NABARD’s headquarter is in Mumbai and all its working offices are in the state capitals. Therefore, the postings are generally circumscribed in the state capitals only. But, as per the HR policy, the Grade-A officer will not be allowed a post in his/her own state. The officers in NABARD are very unlikely to be posted in rural areas.
8. Accommodation facility
The accommodation of a Grade-A officer or manager is subjected to the availability of the same. But mostly, he/she gets accommodation in the urban areas only.
