NABARD DA 2026 Exam Do’s and Don’ts
The NABARD DA 2026 Phase 1 Exam conducted by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development is the first and most crucial stage of the selection process. Phase 1 is qualifying in nature, but clearing sectional and overall cut-offs is mandatory to move to Phase 2. The exam tests speed, accuracy, and smart question selection. To help you prepare effectively, here are the important topics for Phase 1 followed by clear Do’s and Don’ts focused only on Prelims strategy.
| Section | Important Topics | Preparation Focus |
| Reasoning Ability | Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Syllogism, Inequality, Blood Relations | Focus on puzzle variety and speed practice |
| Quantitative Aptitude | Data Interpretation, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Simplification | Strengthen arithmetic basics and calculation speed |
| English Language | Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Error Detection, Para Jumbles | Improve grammar accuracy and reading speed |
Phase 1 has sectional timing, so you cannot switch between sections freely. Practice according to the exact time limit for each section. Many candidates score well overall but fail due to low sectional marks. Allocate preparation time evenly across all subjects and track your sectional performance in mocks.
Focus more on scoring areas such as Data Interpretation in Quant and Puzzles in Reasoning. These topics carry significant weightage. Strengthening these areas can increase your attempts. However, balance is important, do not ignore smaller topics like Inequality or Simplification, as they are quick scoring opportunities.
Phase 1 is speed-based. Improve your calculation skills by practicing percentage-to-fraction conversions and basic arithmetic daily. For English, work on reading speed and comprehension accuracy. The faster you calculate and read, the more questions you can attempt confidently within time limits.
Mock tests are essential for Phase 1 success. Attempt at least 2–3 full-length mocks per week as the exam approaches. After every test, analyze mistakes carefully. Identify whether errors were due to lack of concept clarity, time pressure, or calculation mistakes. Regular analysis improves both accuracy and confidence.
Many candidates focus heavily on Quant and Reasoning but neglect GA. Since GA questions are direct and less time-consuming, they can boost your score quickly. Ignoring current affairs can reduce overall attempts. Revise banking awareness and rural development schemes consistently.
If a puzzle or DI set appears lengthy or confusing, skip it initially. Spending 5–6 minutes on one tough set can reduce your total attempts. Smart selection is key in Phase 1. Attempt easy and moderate questions first, then return to difficult ones if time permits.
Random guessing may harm your accuracy due to negative marking. Attempt questions only when reasonably confident. Maintain a balance between attempts and accuracy. A moderate number of highly accurate attempts is better than high attempts with many wrong answers.
In the final week before the exam, avoid starting completely new topics. Focus on revising formulas, shortcuts, current affairs notes, and computer awareness facts. Revision ensures clarity and boosts confidence. Last-minute confusion can negatively impact performance.
The NABARD DA 2026 Phase 1 Exam requires smart preparation, speed, and balanced focus across all sections. By prioritizing important topics, practicing mock tests regularly, and avoiding common mistakes, you can comfortably clear the sectional and overall cut-offs. Stay consistent, revise daily, and approach the exam with confidence and clarity.
