Sol. Let width = x. Length = 2x.
Perimeter = 2(2x + x) = 60 → 6x = 60 → x = 10 m.
Length = 2 × 10 = 20 m.
Q.3: A wire is bent into the shape of a square with an area of 49 sq cm. If the same wire is bent to form a circle, what is the radius of the circle? (Use π = 22/7)
(a) 7 cm
(b) 14 cm
(c) 28 cm
(d) 3.5 cm

Sol. Side of square = 7 cm.
Perimeter = 4 × 7 = 28 cm.
Circumference = 28 = 2πr = 2 × (22/7) × r.
r = 28 × 7 / 44 = 4.45 cm (approx).
