LIC AAO Reasoning Preparation 2025

The Reasoning Ability preparation requires a dedicated slot of study every day before the exam. The LIC AAO Prelims exam is scheduled for 3rd October 2025. The reasoning section in the LIC AAO (Generalist) Prelims exam is of 35 marks. This contains questions from important reasoning topics. The important topics of the reasoning ability syllabus are syllogism, inequality, coding-decoding, puzzles, and seating arrangement. Reasoning Ability Weightage in LIC AAO Exam

The reasoning ability is of 35 marks in the LIC AAO Prelims exam. A total of 35 questions will be asked in this section based on different topics. You will be given only 20 minutes to attempt all questions, as there is a sectional timing in this exam. You should target 28+ marks in this section. This can be achieved with a dedicated practice of 3 hours daily.

The topic-wise reasoning strategy for LIC AAO 2025 Generalist exam is given below:

Strengthen Puzzles & Seating Arrangement

  • Weightage: High (15 to 20 questions in prelims).
  • Types to Practice:
    • Linear arrangement (single & double row).
    • Circular & square seating (facing inside/outside).
    • Floor-based puzzles.
    • Box-based & scheduling puzzles.

    • Start with 2-variable puzzles, then move to 3-variable ones.

    • Follow the new pattern (like “Only a few” type).

Solve Inequalities Questions Quickly

  • Weightage: 3 to 5 questions.

    • Cover both Direct inequalities & Coded inequalities.
    • Write relations quickly, avoid overthinking.
    • Practice 15 to 20 questions daily to improve your speed.

Practice Coding-Decoding Questions

  • Weightage: 2 to 4 questions.
  • Types:
    • Letter shifting, substitution coding, Chinese coding.
  • Strategy:
    • Focus on new pattern logical coding (statement-based).
    • Build speed by solving old pattern sets.

Master Blood Relations Topic

  • Weightage: 2 to 3 questions.
  • Strategy:
    • Use family tree method for clarity.
    • Practice mix of direct and coded relations.
    • Shortcut: Convert sentences into symbols quickly.

Increase Speed in Solving Direction Sense Question

  • Weightage: 2 to 3 questions.
