Life Insurance Corporation of India has released 350 Assistant Administrative Officer Generalist vacancies in 2025 on Aug 16, 2025. According to the official notification PDF, the preliminary examination is scheduled for 3rd October 2025, with admit cards expected to be released in the third week of September 2025. Candidates who qualify will proceed to the mains examination, which is set to take place on 8th November 2025. Aspirants are advised to stay updated with official announcements and prepare accordingly for both stages of the selection process to ensure timely readiness and compliance.
The Prelims exam of LIC AAO 2025 for Generalists posts is scheduled for 3rd October 2025. Candidates who successfully download their call letter can appear in the exam with the necessary documents needed at the exam centre. The Prelims exam of LIC AAO 2025 doesn’t have negative marking, and the English Language is only qualifying. So, your score will be calculated based on the marks obtained in the Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude sections.
The Mains exam of LIC AAO Generalist 2025 is scheduled for 8th November 2025. In the remaining days, prepare for prelims level and mains level questions of LIC AAO as you will get very less time after the Prelims exam. The Mains exam contains a total of 300 marks questions from Data Analysis and Interpretation, Reasoning, Insurance and Financial Market Awareness, and General Knowledge and Current Affairs Section. Apart from this you have to take English descriptive writing test 25 marks (2 questions), which is qualifying in nature.
The Application Fees of LIC AAO is Rs. 700 for Unreserved, OBC, and EWS category candidates. The application fee is only Rs. 85 for the reserved category candidates. Check the fees in the table below.

The eligibility criteria for LIC AAO Generalists are mentioned in the notification PDF. The candidates must be Indian citizens with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The selection process of LIC AAO consists of three stages which are Prelims, Mains, and Interview. English language in both Prelims and Mains is qualifying in nature. There is no negative marking in both Prelims and Mains. Therefore, you can attempt all questions with maximum accuracy to ensure good marks and final selection.
The Prelims exam of LIC AAO 2025 Generalists consists of 3 sections, of which 2 sections (Quant and Reasoning) marks are included in the total marks. The English language marks are qualifying only. Therefore, focus more on Quant and Reasoning to qualify for the Prelims exam.

The minimum qualifying marks for the English Language is 10 marks. There is no negative marking in the LIC AAO exam 2025. The Prelims exam marks are not counted for final merit, but clearing Prelims cut-offs is essential to appear for the Mains. Target 60+ marks out of 70 as the cut offs may go high based on previous year trends.
The Mains exam of LIC AAO consists of 5 sections of which English Language section is descriptive tests and is qualifying in nature. The remaining 4 sections include data analysis and interpretation, Reasoning, Insurance and financial market awareness, and General Knowledge and Current Affairs.

Note: The minimum qualifying marks in the English Language Descriptive test are 10 out of 25. There is no negative marking in the LIC AAO Mains exam. You get sectional timing for each section. You need to score above 50% marks in each section. The final merit will be made based on the Mains exam and Interview marks.
The total marks for the Interview is 60 and the qualifying marks for Unreserved, OBC and EWS candidates are 30 and for the reserved category candidates it is 27.
The candidates with 3 times the number of vacancies will be called for the Interview.
The final merit will be formed based on the Interview marks and Mains exam Marks.
Shortlisted candidates in the final merit list will have to go through a pre-recruitment medical examination. It is more like a full body check up. If you are found medically fit, then you will be offered an appointment. Follow proper diet during your preparation as you need to qualify in this test too.
LIC AAO is providing an attractive salary with more benefits as compared to other bank recruitment. The in-hand salary after deduction is approx. Rs. 1,07,222 per month. The salary can vary depending upon your location of posting. You can be posted anywhere in India and later after 1 year of probation period you can request for transfer.
LIC AAO Basic pay is Rs 88,635/month on the scale of Rs 88,635 to Rs 1,69,025. With allowances (HRA+CCA), LIC AAO In-hand salary is around Rs. 1,26,000/month in ‘A’ Class city.
The pay scale structure as per the notification is: Basic pay of Rs 88635/- per month in the scale of Rs. 88635- 4385(14)-150025– 4750(4) –169025 and other admissible allowances as per rules.
Perks and allowances include: Pension, gratuity, LTC, medical cover, insurance, vehicle loan, meal coupons, reimbursement (mobile, briefcase, furniture), maid allowance, and other LIC benefits.
A candidate after appointment as Assistant Administrative Officer shall be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining. This period may be extended upto two years. During the period of probation the candidates will be subjected to continuous assessment as per the Corporation extant policy.
Before joining as a Probationer, candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve LIC for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including probationary period), failing which, he/she or his /her heirs, executors, administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs. 5,00,000 (Rupees Five Lakhs only).
